You're free to disagree, though personally I think that is a very different situation to fictional clothing on fictional characters in an online game and that drawing comparisons to real world struggles does a major disservice to those who have been oppressed.
When that guy is complaining about garnements, virtual or not, encouraging a "lifestyle" that would "endanger" his bloodline or whatever, I don't see how drawing a comparison to his woes about men in dresses to the women-in-pants ones people had a few decades ago is so insensitive.
im baby
I love demands and dog whistling. Really makes me root for the cause! You're fine devs you've the most choices for attire out of all the games I play. If you remove them fine, but don't feel the need because a prat hurls the phobia words at you![]()
Like someone else mentioned, if you have a request, make a thread for it. Or if a thread already exists, keep it alive. And don't keep making new threads if one already exists.
Going into a thread and trying to invalidate other people's requests isn't going to help your cause - it's counterproductive. I think this is because the ffxiv team is more receptive towards request posts rather than posts rejecting requests.
I'm all for more masculine options, but it doesn't seem like this thread was made for that. It was to remove gender restrictions on gear.
Wonder what percentage that particular birth control has..When that guy is complaining about garnements, virtual or not, encouraging a "lifestyle" that would "endanger" his bloodline or whatever, I don't see how drawing a comparison to his woes about men in dresses to the women-in-pants ones people had a few decades ago is so insensitive.
Couldn't agree more. While I can agree that what Amnmaat said is a bit on the extreme side of things, you have to admit the ideas of "nonconforming" genders and same sex relations is becoming oversaturated in Western media and culture. It's gotten to the point where two people of the same sex cannot have a meaningful relationship outside of being lovers. See Frodo and Sam from Lord of the Rings for that. Even the Tolkien Society is pushing the idea that they were gay. It's one thing to create a piece of fiction with ideas like that in mind. It's another to shoehorn it into every aspect of everything.
There is a lot of weird stuff in LotR. Sam slept on Frodos feet within the first chapter, if I'm remembering correctly. I'm not sure the homoeroticism of Lord of the Rings is the hill you want to die on.
But, like, remove glam locks or wherever this thread was about before we started talking about what is making the frogs gay.

Just gonna leave that there for your consideration.
Gamers don't die, we just go AFK

Ma'am, I haven't read or cared about this series since middle school. It was pretty gay.
