Honestly, if you ever feel like being cheap just go either as a healer, or as a tank with Martialist, or Aetherweaver up depending on what you have to spare. - just play according to what you have. DPS is a little rougher to obtain damage boosting essences, but as tank/healer I don't see any excuse whatsoever

My suggestion? If you're doing a few relics, and still need CLL, then spend time between CLL runs farming for clusters to get fragments to turn into essences, to feed into your Dlariada or DR runs. I find farming them between runs I can easily get 50-100 fragments, and that is for the pure essences.

I’ve been entering DRn again with friends for weekly & we certainly had a varied experience ever since Zadnor went live. It’s still largely the same: a dice roll. You’ll either get bunch of players who’s committing to use essences & the run gets roflstomp’d really hard(this does happen -slightly- more frequently now), or little to no essence users & the run went by for 40m’ish/potentially longer.

I've stopped queueing for DR, too many runs felt I was the only one using essences.
(I mostly rock Banner + Pure Essence of Duelist, so damage is massive) and to be honest it was a drop in the ocean, not to mention some ridiculous things like Tanks with 0 essence and no Tank Stance.
Now I only run with premades.

Most people only ever set foot in Bozja because they needed to for their relic. Those people don't get the essences they need by simply participating in Bozja, and they have absolutely no reason to go out of their way to farm clusters. This is all by design.

Doing skirmishes and CEs in each of the three zones nets you the three kinds of memories you need for the first step, killing mobs nets you the bitter memories for the following step, and Castrum (which you need for loathsome memories) spawns faster if lots of Skirmishes and CEs get done.

Helping spawn things via mob farming will make your relic building in Bozja go much faster.

Skirmishes and CE's earn you basically nothing in terms of essences. Also, like I said, Skirmishes and CEs are always running non-stop in SF; I've never had any downtime between skirmishes to sit around killing trash. If anything there was always more of them going on than I could ever reasonably do, so stopping to kill trash would only slow me down.

Also, let's not ignore the fact that it's MUCH more efficient to do all of the steps before DR outside of Bozja. For relic hunters the most efficient way to do everything is to ignore cluster/fragment farming, and that's entirely by design.

The problem is the system. RNG on top of more RNG to get the actions you need. Then the actions are consumed upon use. This makes people less likely to use them. They should just had you unlock the actions once, then you can use them whenever. At the very least, let us trade fragments for other fragments(5:1 conversion or something) since the devs want us to have hundreds of lost bubble for some reason.

Maybe the relic quest steps could provide some weaker untradeable consumables, enough for the runs needed for the relic. Tradeable consumables could still be much more powerful. As Goji pointed out, a lot of folks are only in the queues because SE gives them no other alternative but to be in them. They don't care about Bozja. They don't want to spend anymore time there than they have to. SE didn't listen to the feedback after Eureka about not tying something like the relic to their special sauce zone and this is the result. So they should do something during the relic quest line to allow people who only want their relic to not have to face this negativity from others who actually want to do the Bozja content for itself.

isn't pure essence >50% chance from just 1 cluster now? ~30min of solo farming got me enough elders for 2 relics yesterday

Out of the 20 fragments I bought with clusters I got 6 of the Elder Essences. 20 is a bit low to be statistically relevant but if that ratio holds true for 200 fragments it's more like 30%. My guess it's closer to 25%.

Having done a lot of DR recently, it's really frustrating when so many people don't bother using even basic essences. Had a rank 25 co-"healer" in DR today who didn't cast a single heal, only glare (and occasionally standing around doing nothing). I wouldn't have minded so much except they weren't even using an essence to increase their dps.

Simply, if you can't be bothered to use an essence, you're not contributing your full weight and dragging the party down.

Sure, you may not care and that's fine, but don't be surprised if other people do.

Not really, unless you are Main Tank or the designated healer of your party, Tanks and Healers can contribute a lot to speeding up DR. They can deal insane amounts of damage with the proper setup, which can be more grindy/expensive to get than DPS setups (bar Excellence setups)

Warrior with Deep Irregular + Blood Rage + Inner Release + Slash is among the most hilarious memetic nonsense I've seen.

WHM with Deep Profane + Seraph Strike + Chainspell + Thin Air + Presence of Mind is just naughty.

And I'm sure there are other more broken combos that people have figured out.
