For players wanting to relocate there needs to be a small window at the start of a plot opening for them to relocate, after that 1-3hrs window closes they should be required to join the rest of us in trying to get the house by clicking and waiting.
The relocator (in most cases) already had their battle with the timer to get a house in the first place. They haven't skipped anything.

The length of the timer is the real problem. Capping it at 3-4 hours compared to the 24+ hours (or whatever the max length currently is) would be a significant improvement while still serving the purpose it was intended for. That's more than enough time for a plot to be noticed by multiple prospective buyers so a flipper can't just "hand the keys" to another player in exchange for real money or massive amounts of gil.

We effectively had that back before 4.1 when there was no timer. Players DIDN'T welcome it. That's why SE ended up implementing the timer. It put a major stumbling block into housing resale for RMT or inflated gil fees.

A lot of the social economic issues we have in the real world are due to land barons jacking up property prices so ordinary people have a difficult time securing a place to live while still being able to afford things like food, clothing, transportation, etc. Let's not encourage the game to repeat real world mistakes.

If you want to play land baron, go play real estate tycoon games instead of MMORPGs.

No most of them have not, most of them have had their houses before this began but my solution is still valid, they still get a trump card if they show they are watching and they dont have to play the waiting game if they dont want.

I completely agree with this, there is no need for it to be 24+

I agree, it wasn't great and "welcome it" was probably the wrong way to say it, but I think players would prefer knowing what they need to save for rather than waiting and indefinite amount of time in a competitive camping system, at least in the state it currently is in. if they did the 3-4hr window that would be far more appreciated, then first come first serve after that timer and they would still stop people from black market dealing. i think your 3-4hr window would relieve a lot of the relocating stresses too, you wouldn't need a window for relocation then just let them have priority and people would be accepting of that because i think a lot of us who get a plot in lavender beds would love to get a shiragone house if it became available.
