It's a multiplayer game. You're vying for a first time house. The current rules of the game say that you can only choose a house that relocators have rejected. Relocators accepted the plot you were at, so you move to the next. You're entitled to be annoyed at the rule or the people that made it. But the relocator? They are just playing ff14, like you.

Eh, I don't need to convince you that other players have a right to play. You can know it or refuse, your call.

Play single player games if your definition of sharing is "pass up items you want so I can have them." People play the game to collect what interests them. Relocation may change in the coming expansion. For now it means any player or FC with a house can shuffle into another one for placard cost.

At first, perhaps, but the bigger thing is if it was possible to track relos (or better get a clear display of what's open and in cooldown) eventually players would be able to quickly go camp what they wanted to, and they'd be aware of what would (or wouldn't) be likely to be relo'd into. It's a bit like using a DPS parser with a fight and seeing if the initial assumption actually matches the outcome with the observed data, if that makes sense.

Instead of being happy they've succeeded at the RNG fest that is housing, people insist they are owed a better location, even at the expense of other players.

Other players aren't interfering with your playing any more than you are interfering with theirs. If you're going to berate them, better be berating yourself at the same time. This isn't a single player game where you get to have everything you want because there are no other players competing against you to get those items.

Unless every plot has the exact same view with the exact same amenities located at the exact same distance from the plot, plots will fall into subjective categories of greater or less desirability depending on what's important to the individual player. Some players want an unobstructed scenic view of the beach or waterfall or whatever from their yard. Others want their house tucked away in a corner where other players are unlikely to go. Still others want to have a MB and Summoning Bell right next to their property for convenience.

If you don't care where your house is located, why isn't an apartment sufficient for you?It's a space to decorate and if you have multiple characters on the same world, you can get their apartments in the same building to have a space equal to or bigger than a small house for a fraction of the price. You can grow anything you can grow in a garden patch plus the decorative flowers (they only grow in flowerpots), you just can't cross breed for new seeds.

If you get this angry at someone who relocates, I hate to think how angry you're going to get when someone else buys the plot you were camping. In both cases, nothing was gained for your time spent but at least the relocator presents you with another chance to buy. Another buyer leaves you with nothing.

Again, your anger is misplaced. It's not other players that are the problem. It is the lack of houses compared to the number of players that want to own and that is something only SE controls. Don't let SE off the hook by claiming it's other players that are at fault for you not having a house.

I'm not letting SE off the hook, but I'm not going to let selfish players off the hook either.

If my apartment had an outside I could decorate, complete with space for a garden, then I wouldn't care about a house. It does not. Two flowerpots that can't be used for cross-breeding isn't the same as a garden. I want access to the same content as other players, as I'm paying the same amount as they are paying. I'm sadly unsurprised by the elitist gatekeeping going on among the player base when it comes to housing.
