You are correct, however I feel I am being pretty blunt about wanting items off the Mog Station without paying real money for it. I'm sure I'm not the only one feeling this way though and I am offering an idea for an alternative for the issue.

As for your other point of wanting it for "free", I have to say I disagree. I am not suggesting getting these items for "free" I am suggesting either paying real money on the Mog Station or large amounts of gil for the same item in game. Either option is not "free". With the Mog Sation you are spending real money, alternatively with game gil you are spending your time, effort and subscription fee for the same end result. One is just more instantly gratifying then the other. Plus I would have to add that most people would agree their time is very valuable to them and they do not consider it "free".

There is no problem feeling how you do, but as a person who has never spent a cent on MogStation I can honestly say I am glad it exists because of the endeavors the game has done/produced as a direct result of the cash gains from it.

I can’t remember exact live letters, but the devs are on record saying some parts of the game that I do interact with were directly paid for by Mogstation money. Stuff like additional housing wards and other fluff.

This simply would not exist since you can’t pay the devs or buy new server boxes with fictional currency.

I would say items that have only ever been available via Mogstation should remain as such...but.... I would not mind seeing more options like I said before... hair styles or dances would be great.

Or, brining back items that were available in game for free (lightning weapons, old event rewards) for big gil costs would be cool.

RMT already sells Mogstation items for less that Mogstation. They use them as a hook to get people to their sites. And people buy gil for lots of things and to think that those who have little money won't consider buying gil to get things they want is just being naïve. They already do. Creating desirable highly priced items that most of the community has no chance of getting is going to encourage some to simply buy the gil to get them. At least the current items are only gaudy reskins.

Let's use the "Kingly Peacock Horn" as an example. It sells for $24 US and summons a Kingly Peacock Mount, the mount is unique, market prohibited, and untradable. This means that it cannot be traded to a player or sold to a player the only way for someone to obtain it is for it to be directly moogle mailed to them though the Mog Station.

I look at the cost of Gilded mounts and ask "Really SE??" Do they not realize there are players who can buy 10 large houses, two gilded mounts. And still have so much gil left over its laughable..

For players like that, the price point seems rather low.
Though I do wonder how SQEX determined the value of these mounts...
Too high a price and no one will buy it.
Make it even higher still and some will buy it to flex, sure... but what would remove the most gil from the game: hitting more wallets for a lot, or hitting a few for motherlodes?

They purchase the items off the Mog Station using stolen card numbers and then sell the codes for less on their sites. By the time a chargeback is done on the Mog Station by the bank/card holder it's too late. SE loses money because of the chargebacks. RMT makes money cuz they stole the code with a stolen card number.

As mentioned they use charge back method or they buy the code from a region that has cheaper codes then sell for a profit. This is how they do it for other online games not sure if they same rule applies for ffxiv.

From the user end it is relatively safe if you use a card that offers a comprehensive fraud protection.

The fact that you can trade the mounts just means more avenues for RMT sellers to make money.

Seems like an excellent way to foster RMT if you ask me. I'm sure the Gil Sellers are pretty happy with this new need for gil. Relative to Mog Station items SE makes real money from sales there I doubt seriously they'll give people a way to buy those in game.

That is not how money circulation works.
When people pay 50M gils to NPC, this 50M will be out of circulation.
50M went into void and will not be on hand of another player to circulate back to market.
This actually will be hurting RMT a lot in the long run because market will start to deflate when there is no more gil in circulation
