Yes it is a silly perspective to think they'd sell mogstation items for gil instead of real dollars but go ahead and believe they will. Check back with us when they actually do that.

RMT already sells Mogstation items for less that Mogstation. They use them as a hook to get people to their sites. And people buy gil for lots of things and to think that those who have little money won't consider buying gil to get things they want is just being naïve. They already do. Creating desirable highly priced items that most of the community has no chance of getting is going to encourage some to simply buy the gil to get them. At least the current items are only gaudy reskins.

I would wager the FFXIV team is keeping a very close eye on the metrics right now. How many of these mounts are sold, if people with the previous version still buy the "new" version. How many are purchased per account and if the pricepoint makes a huge difference in engagement.

If this is successful (lots of engagement, lots of gil removed) , I imagine many MANY new "gold" mounts making their way to the new vendors.

For sure it'd be nice if we had options but the goal here is to remove some of the insane amounts of gil that's just being sat on at the moment. People have several retainers maxxed out on multiple alts. Thats 1 billion gil on each of them (1 gil really doesn't matter). Now while I couldn't tell you how many people out there have this particular situation, it puts some perspective on the prices being asked for the new mounts.

You and I may balk at parting with a few million for anything, but there are players who 50 million is a pittance.

I feel it's a bit late for these players to finally be addressed, but it's better than nothing.

What's wrong with the Mogstation? Is it getting shut down?

Why does it need saving? I'm confused. Context please. xD

If it's 10 players. I'm betting the people who run the game and have access to the actual metrics have a better idea of what they want to bleed and from who.
