Seems like an excellent way to foster RMT if you ask me. I'm sure the Gil Sellers are pretty happy with this new need for gil. Relative to Mog Station items SE makes real money from sales there I doubt seriously they'll give people a way to buy those in game.Items:
“Resplendent Vessel of Ronka” selling for 25 million gil (gold version of “Great Vessel of Ronka” mount)
“Gilded Mikoshi” selling for 50 million gil (gold version of “Mikoshi” mount)
Benefit:A way for players to spend large amounts of gil reducing inflation in the game's economy and take the gil out of circulation.

I don't see a need for any gil sinks when they've totally & completely destroyed the economy.
Everything seems to be selling for 5k gil or less now.
It's still possible to make a lot of gil, though.
Personally I don't have any interest in the mounts in question. I would, however, buy some opulent and fancy furniture for my house that costs a lot of money. Provided it genuinely looked nice, of course.
Yeah. Granted it is still the first week of the patch, but I've spent around 6-7 mil and made half of that back in the same amount of time. I can usually average a couple hundred thousand per day at least if things are selling steadily. Usually more if my retainers are generous. Sure, I'm never rich, but I always get what I want. Considering I've got all the glamours I want currently, a fully furnished house and reasonably geared alt jobs I think I'm doing just fine.![]()
Kinda silly perspective tbh. If adding mogstation mounts in for gil is going to foster RMT, then why are these RMTers not simply spending their money on the mount directly? You're not gonna find 50 million gil from any RMT source for 30 bucks or less.
Yes it is a silly perspective to think they'd sell mogstation items for gil instead of real dollars but go ahead and believe they will. Check back with us when they actually do that.
RMT already sells Mogstation items for less that Mogstation. They use them as a hook to get people to their sites. And people buy gil for lots of things and to think that those who have little money won't consider buying gil to get things they want is just being naïve. They already do. Creating desirable highly priced items that most of the community has no chance of getting is going to encourage some to simply buy the gil to get them. At least the current items are only gaudy reskins.

I don't think RMT is an issue here. If you are the type of person to go against the rules and buy gil from RMT with real money to get the item. Why would you bother with the middle man plus the risk to your account if you could buy it with real money from the Mog Station.
As for Square Enix making money off the sales of the Mog Station items, they will still be making money off of the subscription time it would take people to earn that gil in game. Assuming these are the only two factors we are judging against each other.

I'm sorry could you or someone who understands please elaborate, I don't understand. How are RMT selling Mog Station items for less then the Mog Station.
Let's use the "Kingly Peacock Horn" as an example. It sells for $24 US and summons a Kingly Peacock Mount, the mount is unique, market prohibited, and untradable. This means that it cannot be traded to a player or sold to a player the only way for someone to obtain it is for it to be directly moogle mailed to them though the Mog Station.
They purchase the items off the Mog Station using stolen card numbers and then sell the codes for less on their sites. By the time a chargeback is done on the Mog Station by the bank/card holder it's too late. SE loses money because of the chargebacks. RMT makes money cuz they stole the code with a stolen card number.I'm sorry could you or someone who understands please elaborate, I don't understand. As mentioned they use charge back method or they buy the code from a region that has cheaper codes then sell for a profit. This is how they do it for other online games not sure if they same rule applies for ffxiv.I'm sorry could you or someone who understands please elaborate, I don't understand. From the user end it is relatively safe if you use a card that offers a comprehensive fraud protection.
