It's less to do with 'entitlement' and more to do with gently reminding people that other playable races have been lacking in some way for far longer than Viera. I'm not sure why asking for every playable race to be fixed is such a point of controversy, though I suppose I shouldn't be surprised given how this place often works.

Everyone knows every race needs some attention, but when you come to a thread about races that have significantly less options than the others and complain about a race whose long list of options we envy, don't be surprised when your comments aren't well received. What you're doing is akin to walking up to a bunch of people that are frustrated that they only have access to outdated cars, and you proceed to complain that your new BMW could have nicer fabric on the seats.

What bone? The others have 100 bones while Viera and Hrothgar have 50 bones. The others have to wait until Viera and Hrothgar have 100 bones as well.

A situation created by their decision to add these races when they lacked the resources to do it in the first place. If anything, it would've been more prudent to address the limitations of their graphics engine first - which apparently is something they're now actively reviewing - and then adding new races, rather than this bind they created for themselves.

Regarding the 100 bones - granted, the older races have more flexibility in some respects, but many of them are plagued by design issues, be it the way elezen move, highlanders' severe limitations of good faces and the idiotic inability to add eyebrows for "lore" reasons, the au ra hips/clipping, and so on. I can certainly understand the frustration directed at them, in the sense that to see updates to the existing races we must wait for them to address how they bungled up the new races.

With that said, I am also curious where their resources are going. They keep saying it's not money but manpower but I doubt it's either, so much as the choice of where to put the money the game is bringing in. The work they keep referencing that would go into this isn't particularly specialised work. We see scaling back on multiple fronts. The graphics engine upgrade is not something in the works at present, just something they're actively looking at, so on that basis doesn't seem to be what's taking up their attention. EW isn't bringing any groundbreaking new features. So what is consuming their focus?

This shouldn’t even be an argument. It shouldn’t be one or the other. It shouldn’t have taken this long for other races to have more options nor should it have taken this long for hroth and viera to be fixed. It’s the company’s fault, you can’t yell at people for also voicing their concerns when this is a universal issue. Yes viera and hrothgar got the shorter end of the stick but it’s a long totem pole with every race having problems that should’ve been addressed two expansions ago, all we’re seeing with the other and viera is the same issue repeated. According to the gcbtw though you should be grateful you can even wear some hats because the devs worked OVERTIME to get them to you :^)

I just double checked to make certain but you did not create this specific thread. With that in mind, I'd kindly suggest not trying to dictate who can and cannot post in it.

If you want to agree to disagree on the specific points being raised, that's absolutely fine - but please don't try and push people away from weighing in on matters of interest to them.

I didn't say you can't post here. You're reading things I literally did not say. My problem is you trying to steer things off topic by complaining about your much more fortunate position. We're complaining about getting zero new hair. You're complaining that you want updates to races that are already far ahead of the newer ones and how you don't like the new hair. Not the same topic.

If you want to complain about your race or how you feel about the new hairstyles you have access to, then you can make a thread about it. You would get much farther with your concerns by doing that than you would by going into a thread about viera and essentially saying "QQ my hyur."

By that logic then, why are some people complaining about hrothgar hair too? The OP only mentioned Viera. People are allowed to express themselves especially when the topic itself is about SE’s problems with character customization. I don’t see why people are trying to gate the convo when people have their grievances they want to put out about all races as a whole which includes hrothgar and viera.

I was this ready to buy the Wasshoi emote they added but I won't now, not until they work on Viera/Hrothgar. There's absolutely nothing to go "Wasshoi" about for those 2 races.

I'm of the opinion that they REALLY should've just held out on both of these races if they absolutely had to come together. I can only assume the reason we have Viera/Hrothgar as they are now is only due to marketing reasons. Introducing two new races as opposed to just a single race sounds like a more appealing hook for a new expansion. Which really leaves a sour taste in my mouth to have that in the back of my head along with the fact that any time the mention of playable races gets brought up we're always left with a vague non-answer concerning these two.

As far as I remember, it was their "last chance" to add any new races. So they did their beast race, and the fan favorite viera. The compromise was no male viera or female hrothgar - which would have been the equivalent of two new races if they had been added. They probably were just able to fit them in with their ShB budget.

If you don't understand why a person who complains that their gigantic bag of sweets isn't good enough ends up getting side-eyed by those who only have a small handful, when the topic is about those who have that small handful, then I don't know what to say to you.

And that's all I will say about this matter because at this point I'm driving the topic off-topic as well and it's not something I want to do any further.

Personally the month of may is my last hope for the new races. If we hear nothing then, then I'll resign to the fact that we are indeed forgotten. And perhaps go back to miqo.
