And funnily enough they’ve changed that stance now to “we’ll see what the future holds”. It’s pure marketing manipulation at its finest. We saw it when yoshi wouldn’t give a direct answer about male viera and fem hroth and instead said look forward to the fanfest. It’s basically what they’ve done with viera and hroth hair. Look forward to it sometime in the future but not now because we need to add angel wings and parasols.

Well, back on ShB launch Yoshida pretty much said the same thing. Not a "no" but a, "maybe in the future". I do think a lot of what is said is disingenuous however, like that whole "look forward to the fanfest".

I do tend to believe Yoshida though, for the foreseeable future they do not have the budgeting to maintain, or create another new race (equivalent male viera/female hrothgar). If something changes "perhaps", that's why he won't shut the door on it. Though, the way I tend to read his statements, I'd say any actual new races are an almost definite "never". Male Viera/female hrothgar, are a "maybe one day".

Viera hair and hrothgar faces, if I recall correctly, was more of a definite "YES!" yet we have seen nothing, that's what's frustrating.

But that's what gets me. We're not only sitting with both having no opposite genders but also sitting with some really lackluster customization options. And new hairstyles were promised at the very least. I genuinely don't understand why they couldn't have had the whole situation with their customization options mapped out at the very least so players wanting to use these two races wouldn't have to go patch after patch missing out on customization options that other races can use while these two can't.

Agreed, I had assumed viera hair/hrothgar faces (updates) would have been part of the plan, but I guess not. They made them for ShB and then left them seemingly without any actual plans to update them; put on the backburner.

I really would love to know how SE found the time to make seven new hairstyles for all the pre-ShB races, who don't all have the same shape head, while viera and hrothgar got nothing.

It just looks like intentional exclusion.

Simple. They pre-planned these hairstyles (hairstyle contest?). Plans for these hairs were mapped out prior, viera/hrothgar updates were not.
