Why are people so adverse to talking in discord within FC?

I'm female, and once that becomes apparent from voice, I get treated a lot differently. Some good, some bad, but definitely different.

Sort off topic, but we had a friend of a friend want join our discord that did not want to mic up cause she was female and did not want to be treated any differently from the "bois" I guess you could say. Yeah, honestly did not work out that way. I think to a degree to some extent female gamers do want to be treated differently within reasonable context. From personal experience I really do not think many feel comfortable being treated just as a guy does a different dynamic.

Yet for some reason people have this thing about being treated differently as it is an inherently bad thing. Not saying you, just a general statement.
