Yes, and you don't know what the moves are until they do them once. Some are quite obscure, and may will kill you in one hit. Or combo into death with another ability.I've played some. I'll even share my PSN Profile with you.

Basically every attack is telegraphed by the animation hitbox. Those animated telegraphs only give you fractions of a second to respond to them sometimes, but souls gives you tons of iframes on your dodge animations to account for that. Also, 1 hit kills generally don't happen unless you're extremely underleveled. Many attacks are designed to take a specific percentage of your health to purposely avoid killing you in 1 hit.
You can avoid everything in souls games on reaction, based on the enemies animations. The animations are the telegraph. The fact that they can be difficult to read and react to is why Souls games are difficult, but the fact that we have dodge animations with invincibility frames means we can react.
If melee DPS had dodges with frame 1 invincibility then coincutters attack might be avoidable on reaction, but they don't. Coincutters attack isn't avoidable and it's a 1 hit kill. It's bad design.
I feel like I'm missing something here. 100 Tonze Swing (the circular AoE) has a different animation than 100 Tonze Swipe (frontal cone), as well as a cast bar, and both can be avoided. You can avoid everything in souls games on reaction, based on the enemies animations. Yeah...that's exactly how it works. I don't know what Goji is going on about. Just because there's no visible floor markers doesn't mean they aren't avoidable. People just need to pay attention.
Not on reaction, they can only be avoided if you already know what each attack does before it actually happens.
A telegraph is something that would allow you to avoid the attack on reaction. Since you're not particularly mobile in a game like FFXIV, telegraphs usually involve large AoE markers and a few seconds to position yourself.
An attack that 1 hit kills you, that can't be avoided on reaction, is bad design. That's why I approve of the change to coincutter.
