It's much quicker than the 1 I posted last week, but not as bulletproof for big fail streak.
But you can always fall back on HT to try to make up lost ground or by doing dumb things like ragespamming patient back to back on white.
If it's about to be written off as a lost cause might as well risk it before you reset the craft anyways.

I like it more because while there's still flexibility with regards to the order of the skills used in each phase, having a distinct pre/post helps me gauge cp usage better, and figure out when I need to gamble more or less or whatever. The quality phase super comfy cuz it's just rearranging buffs based on w/e procs you get, based around

[...] Strides -> Inno -> Observe -> Focus Touch [...]

Rather than map out distinct finishers I just press buttons if I have the cp for it, and eventually you get into a rhythm, knowing how much quality you're going to get from which combos.

I placed my base rotation onto Teamcraft if anyone is interested.

The finisher changes depending on how much CP and durability I had at the end. It has two points of RNG failure. Rapid Synthesis at the start where you'll need to land it twice. You can fail once, but failing twice will require you to restart the craft. The second is Patient Touch. Failure is a restart of the craft most of the time unless you get lucky with RNG and have enough CP to build up IQ stacks and try again. If you do pass both you're guaranteed minimum 5.1k to maxed out and I was able to place on the top 12 using it.

EDIT: Also, did anyone else placing top 12 get anything? I didn't see any achievement notifications or awards for anything even a title. Or does that come later?

Yeah, and its going for each job, so you'll get multiple letters if you're in the top 100 (easy to do on a slow server). I wasn't even trying on my server and ended up in the top 100 on several.

You get usable scrolls that grant achievement completion from the SE Moogle Mail tab.

After I realised that I couldnt toss duplicates, I just didnt accept the last letters... at least they're stuck in my inbox now instead of my inventory (until we get confirmation that we're able to toss them...)

Have they said anything about if/when a second round of tournament is going to start?

They tentatively stated the next rankings would probably start in 5.3 with the next phase of the restoration.

Honestly not sure if I should get my 500K achievements done before or after that, because there's no telling if the point values on any potential new items will be higher then those of the 5.2 crafts.
