Oh great... If that info is correct, looks like I am going to be bored to death. No DoM till 2.0, this up sets me.
What happened to the plan where they were going to try to release a new caster before 2.0?

I am SO happy! When they said ARC = Bard I think I cried... but they have redeemed themselves (in my eyes) by saying ARC might also be THF!! SO excited for ARC now!!!!
While I think it would be cool, and I think some would have a heck of a choice to make, it's not very FF. Their MMOs are unique in the fact that you can play everything on one character. By locking it up like that, people would have to have two characters to play to get the WHOLE story and game. Then I am sure there would be complaints that their second character cost's 3$.Also, I don't think anyone wants to be stuck choosing between PLD and DRK.
*drools* Musketteer is the original reason that I wanted to play FFXIV, and I have been very disappointed in the fact that there has been a guild for them since what, closed beta? Yes no class... I am happy they are starting to talk about it again!Dual-Gun Musketteer is very cool.
I believe SE said they didn't put a pet class in the start because it would unbalance the current start classes. They have talked about a BST type and SMN type class/job that will be coming and I am VERY happy about that. I loved my BST in FFXI.Beyond that, a dedicated Pet CLASS would be ideal. Something like Shepherd or Tamer that could mature into Beastmaster. -or- Evoker class into Summoner job.
SAME! Very excited! All in all, good news to see that there is some progress and indication of what jobs we might see. I'm excited.![]()
I'm just a bun boy, doing bun boy things.
Another example of why just adding more jobs to existing classes is a bad idea. At least if they give us a new class that's something that will occupy our time for awhile leveling it up. Just tossing out another job is essentially a "goobue style" handout that you'll be done with in a month at most.
If they give us classes first, we'll be spending time to level it, and that will give them more time to develope the jobs that are associated with it. It's just the logical thing to do.
I'm sure there is a lot of them, but I'm not about to look for them lol.
Like Kiote said, jobs, job specific armor and job specific abilities will be obtained through quests. Job level however, will be the same level as its parent class.
