I just wanted to give you a heads up so you don't get too involved one way or the other about what you've been reading!

    「シーフは弓術士からの派生が自然と考えている」
    「暗黒騎士は剣術士からの派生、ナイトを極めたあとにクエストで取得。
    一度暗黒騎士になるとナイトには戻れないのもいいかも」
Thinking of Thief coming from archer class.
For dark knight coming from Gladiator class, have to complete Paladin to obtain the quest, maybe it's good where once you become dark knight you can't go back to Paladin.
    Thoughts:

THF from ARC? I would rather they create a new scout class with dual wielding daggers. ARC into THF doesn't really make much sense. (like Bard I guess, but w/e)

Also, I don't think anyone wants to be stuck choosing between PLD and DRK.

For Arcanist planning to include at start of 2.0
It's more of the sorcerer class that uses magic and WS to debuf and range and a technical pet class.
    Thoughts:

Arcanist as a buff/debuff class is sorely needed but I don't see how it becomes a pet class - unless they go the puppetmaster route (Summoner or Beastmaster from Arcanist would be strange)

Time Mage is the ideal job for Arcanist -- Sugarloaf hats ftw!

    銃術士はそれよりあとに実装予定で二丁拳銃の仕組みまでは考えてるとか
Musketeer is planned for after that and also thinking of duel gun
    Thoughts:

Dual-Gun Musketteer is very cool. Just give them the side benefit of being a non-magic healer with AOE potion abilities and other cool item buffs. (see FFT Chemist). We really need another healing class.

Beyond that, a dedicated Pet CLASS would be ideal. Something like Shepherd or Tamer that could mature into Beastmaster. -or- Evoker class into Summoner job.

All in all, good news to see that there is some progress and indication of what jobs we might see. I'm excited.

If anything really Thief should come from Pugilist. I mean it's closer to Thief than Archer is.

Arcanist actually got more interesting to me with the pet aspect.

Now as for Musketeer, I can't wait for that. I don't know if by "Duel Gun" they mean dual guns or a dueling gun. Hard to tell with translation issues.

This. This would take away the purpose of the Job system. There is no way they could believe sticking to one or the other would be a good idea. There must be a mistranslation or a misunderstanding in there somewhere.

For THF deriving from ARC. They said in previous interviews that they wanted to make a scouting class. I don't know what made them change their minds and start thinking about putting them in ARC. They might need to explain why this is a good idea.

Musketeer is dual guns is massive /drool. As long as bullets are not bad to obtain regularly, then I will definitely consider playing this as a DPS role.

I don't see why musketeer should use potions. As for the comment about the pet class, I think they were talking about 2 separate classes being planned for release with 2.0, arcanist AND a pet class

considering this is a "1 char do everything" game, they should never force you to chose between one class or the other, without the option to change to the other class.

THF is always my main job in games, i picked PLG as a main for this reason, i will be a little sad if arc gets THF. I guess i will have to level that too

Well the way I always thought it would go is you have the current 7 classes, and each one could pick between two jobs, but you can never switch back. What I mean is that you can switch between the 7 classes, but their jobs will only be the 1 of 2 that you picked. For example when I switch to GLA I can only pick PLD, where as you went with DRK, but when I pick archer, I can only pick BRD where as you can only pick THF.

I'd say that is fair enough. And then probably implement someway to "reset" your job which would bring you back to your class' base lvl and you'd have to rank the job up again. So if I decided Im tired of my 75 PLD, I can reset to R50 GLA and then rank my DRK up to 75.

Jobs do not have Levels. They are advanced by unlocking abilities through completing quests.

    There are no Levels People!

    Jobs DO NOT have levels!!!!!!!!!

Was wondering if reinhart could explain what you mean by this bold part here a bit better. Do you mean arcanist is a pet class but also using magic ? Or did you mean that their pets are technological, like they have robots for pets ? (robot pet would be awesome btw)

Btw, agree with others that THF should unlock from Pugilist and also I do not want to choose between Paladin or Dark Knight, that's silly.

What I'm thinking is they should make the job tree in a way that it's more difficult to become a dark knight if you unlocked paladin first, or vice versa. Job tree should be complex like FF tactics. This would make it more interesting I think. Like if you unlocked paladin first then you'd need to get gladiator to 40 instead of 30 and then maybe also level thaumaturge, or have Blm unlocked first.

It does seem like the most logical explaination.

I worry that they are trying to cram too much into the game too quick. We don't really need pet/summoner/thf jobs that are grafted on to classes where they don't make much sense -- especially just to get it out the door asap.

I'd rather they took their time with it and got it right.

    On Musketeer,
Look at the chemist jobs from past games. Musketeer as a healer+DD+debuffer isn't much different than the DNC or COR jobs of FFXI. It gives the players a lot to do in both the DD and support areas but doesn't trample on the ARC's position as king of ranged DD.

Not just that, but it would be nice to integrate potions (both healing and debuffing) into the game more -- they have been pretty much useless in both FFXI and this game.
