The class reforms in 1.20 changed the role of classes from Tanaka's original vision and brought them in line with Yoshi-P's ideas for the future. They now have very distinct roles and serve as solo-versions of the role-focused jobs they will become.

On the fake info, you might be right, but most of it seems to gel with what we've heard already, so I'm not willing to discount it quite yet.

Paladin is actually called paradin （paladin) in FFIV in Japanese. Naito on the other hand is the knight job from ff III actually, which was essentially the same thing in that game, a warrior with low level whm and cover. So the term XI / XIV is using is based on FF III and not FFIV.
