Except it does. Your “choice” is to not have it delayed because of this ”I Want It Now” mentality. My “choice” is to have it delayed so that I can fit in both of the things I like (story and Week 1 progression) into my schedule alongside work. I work full-time in the mornings/afternoons. I raid in the evenings. Day 1 of this patch, I was at work all day (because some of us can’t just request days off with only two weeks warning, since the Patch wasn’t officially announced to drop on the 18th until the second part of the PLL—it was only guessed that would be the release date), and I came home, had to rush through normal mode, and then joined my static for raid. I wasn’t the only one who had to do this either, because again: some of us can’t just request off willy-nilly.

Where did I say I want it now? Never once. Just because you cant be an adult and prioritize YOUR time to do things YOU enjoy without some self entitled guilt trip that the game is denying you something. I dont care if your vacation time doesnt line up. and I dont care you feel rushed. Thats on you because you choose to feel that way... sorry

Btw, “Week 1 Savage” would still be Week 1. The Savage weeks start the week it drops.

I’m talking about the Normal Mode story. Not the 5.2 MSQ. Normal mode is story mode. Clearly, you misunderstood what I was talking about.

Patch 5.2 drop: work > come home and do Eden Normal mode. Enjoy the story from the normal mode raid, not the Main Scenario without having to bum-rush it to make raid nights. Maybe do some Ruby Weapon EX for the weapon. Do some of the patch story (the actual MSQ, not the story from normal mode—since you seem to have confused those earlier). I would have had a week to relax and enjoy this content at my own leisure. Since that’s so important to you, perhaps you can understand how it’s also important to me.

is this for real? Again dude, literally a personal problem that you keep choosing to deal with. I love the story too but if the group I CHOSE to join isn't suiting my playstyle then I get a new one. It really is that simple, so im sorry. no thanks

Patch 5.21 drop: Jump into Savage without having to miss out on the story from the normal mode. Beforehand get all my crafted gear done as well, because it would come out that day as well, more than likely.

Not all of us get to just sit at home all day. I have no idea if you actually do that or not, but you sure are acting as if people who work or go to school have a bunch of free time on their hands.

Again, personal problem. I Work, Have Brain cancer, a softcore static, a special needs child, treatments once a month and have full custody of my son. Don't talk to me about time. Just because you cant manage yours. There is nothing wrong with the content cycle.

Between big corps, small family firms and everything in between, some people can find it a struggle to get a specific window off, especially if they can only confirm it a couple of weeks ahead. In my time chasing hardcore prog, I'd say I've had a 50/50 hit rate. Sometimes it wasn't a problem, sometimes either the notice was too late or other people in my team already had it booked.

It's not about sympathy so please drop that one along with the adulthood angle whilst you're at it. It's about being able to hop on as soon as the servers go up.

Oh and before you get all aggressive and angry with me as well. Please keep in mind that my personal opinion is that it should just be locked for a day. I'd just love to be able to take one evening enjoying the story before I jump into the raid grind.

The argument used by those world first raiders you mention is "I dont want to have to make this a priority, so please re-design your launch schedule so I dont have to".

Asking for a week or two of time to prep when other groups and people who also do that content, or have done that content, are saying "you dont need to do this, its fine" is quite literally showcasing a difference in determination in black and white.

How about "Please keep a similar schedule to what you have for the first tier of Savage."

This is where your argument flaws apart. They already delay Savage. Only the subsequent two tiers are released alongside Normal mode. In fact, the initial release is significantly longer. Eden's Gate didn't release until four weeks after Shadowbringers; nearly five if you pre-ordered for Early Access. An additional two weeks later passed before Savage finally released. Asking they maintain that schedule, albeit a week shorter, isn't "re-design your launch." That statement alone is quite the reach, especially given SE has repeatedly delayed content in the past. Eureka was finished much earlier yet they purposely delayed it because they were concerned with 4.2 having too much content. Even now, the relic weapons are delayed for similar reasons.

There has already been a precedence yet. So lets not pretend a require to delay Savage would be wholly unique.

That's not true at all. I had two great raiding-evenings this week I wouldn't have had if they had Savage postponed one week.

Why would this suddenly not happen a week later? Would you magically not enjoy your blind Ramuh prog if it came out on the 25th instead of the 18th? Furthermore, why does a week's delay bother you if you have no aspiration to clear in the first week? Do note I'm not saying clearing several weeks or even months later is a bad thing. You do you. I just fail to see why a week or even a day delay would be such an impact on what I imagine is a more casual minded static.

The highlight parts are where you said it; literally in the very same paragraph.

Your entire argument hinges on you not wanting the delay because you don't care if it bothers anyone else. Your preference is to have Savage immediately. Mine, and several others judging by the response to this thread, is to have Savage delayed. Cool. We both have differing opinions. Now why does your opinion trump anyone else's? If you "don't care" about anyone's position but your own, why should they care about yours?

In layman's terms: we have a simple disagreement. But only you are demanding your argument is correct because you made it.
