    You can always do that, then adjust no? I used to do that in the past when dates weren't set in stone for expansion launches. Blocked off a month a year in advance, then narrowed it down to the days I wanted off once it was set in stone.

    I made an initial post that was tangential to the original topic. Stating that them giving us 2 weeks notice on the actually patch release date was too short (regardless of the savage delay topic) and was replying to someone who said the quoted message.

    Short answer is: no you can't, but yes you have to because SE leaves you no other choice.

    There are plenty of places that require you to put your time off a month in advance (at least) and once it's locked in, the schedule can't be changed. So if you take two weeks there's no going back on it once you know the date. So in that sense it's a no.
    If you're going to raid week 1 with their late announcements you need to find a workaround which can go from depending on the benevolence of your boss to relying on coworkers to pick up your hours. There are no ideal scenarios here.

    Hence my original post.
