Can we please delay Savage?

I could see it if your crafters are also a part of the static, but if they’re on the sidelines I don’t see an issue? I mean, my group cleared E5s pretty easily without any crafted gear or even ruby weapons. Could’ve cleared E6s if we bothered to put more time into it outside of doing TEA. I feel like there would be quite a bit of time before reaching E7 to get the crafted gear. I’m indifferent in regards to a week delay or not. I’m in no hurry, even when I have to prog with pugs this tier. If anything it would be easier to clear for the general pop after waiting a week, since people would have more gear.

Can't really do that as you'd increase the costs for the entire tier, just to deal with something that's an issue of a single week basically. Either lock tomes/tome gear out for a bit or just deal with it as it's not a huge deal either way.

Separate the Raid story from the MSQ. Tying Eden in with the MSQ was the worst possible thing they could have done. This makes the people who want lore and the story, but also like to raid, forced thru the story. HW was separate from Alexander, coils had a bit more to do with the whole calamity thing, but the story was largely separate from the MSQ, as it was related to Garlemald, Gaius and the invasion of Eorzea with the Ultima Weapon with the primals, not Bahamut.

Strongly disagree with this one. Just because it wouldn't be tied directly to MSQ wouldn't change that it's still story and lore and people want experience it - if you made the raid story so untied from the world that it's insignificant, then it wouldn't be as enjoyable. In fact I much prefer how much Eden(or Coils) tied to MSQ, it makes for more engaging story. This also doesn't solve anything for those who just want to go through the actual MSQ first, so it's really just pointless.

SE already staggers and delays the release of advertised patch content (sometimes content that barely calls for it) so I don't get why people are positioning themselves against this idea. Feels like you're just being contrary for the sake of being contrary.

No. They aren't going to release content based on your own personal schedule. Losing a day or two is perfectly fine. You won't lose progress because there will already be video guides up before you can blink so you'll know what the fight is about and how to handle it.

This isn’t just about one player’s schedule. It’s a request that has been made before by world race caliber raiders. There is no negative to delaying Savage’s release a week, or even just unshackling it from normal mode. Not all raiders want to skip the story, but those doing world prog or Week 1 progression/clears usually have to choose between one or the other.

They do it for the first tier. I don’t see what the huge issue is with not doing it for the others.

Don't raid savage but they give us more then a months warning about a major patch drop. If you can't get the time set aside to raid week 1 with a heads up like that. Then its time take a close look at your time management. Delaying a week so you can enjoy the content is fine any other reason is a you problem..

Gonna highlight a key phrase that makes this entire thread pointless. Your Character, Your Choice. Plain and simple. SE didnt make your static schedule, SE didnt make you join a static, SE didnt make you do the raids first, nor should SE cater to YOUR schedule. You dont want to race in the first week, then dont! it REALLY IS that simple.

Or you can just commit to doing it day 1 if its something you want to do day 1.

If you want to compete for world first clearing, then you make the choice to do that. Waking up early to make sure you get your gear and consumables crafted, or paying for those, is part of it. If you want to do it casually, then do it casually.

Exactly this, You can choose to NOT do the stuff in week 1. However, we cannot choose TO do it if its delayed a week. Forcing us to wait because you cant make a choice is not a valid solution.

So its everyone's fault that you cant take time off? By the time they tell you the patch release you would still not have enough time to request the time off. It literally changes nothing

You're missing the point. It's not a matter of "just don't do it then" since, obviously, that's always an option. But if you want to start progress week one, right now you have to do it at the same time a bunch of other content launches, which means delaying enjoying a bunch of stuff to get started on raids. By the time you get to one or the other, a good chunk of people have already done it and it loses some of its luster (and can be spoiled).

You can always do that, then adjust no? I used to do that in the past when dates weren't set in stone for expansion launches. Blocked off a month a year in advance, then narrowed it down to the days I wanted off once it was set in stone.

I don't know why people who don't even participate in the world race, let alone raiding at all, are so against this.
