You might be right, but i have a feeling that Caimie of all people would be able to adjust. Either by HQing more sub-combines, or by cranking out a few quick pieces of facet gear to meet the stat threshholds, or whatever other solution might be viable. She is the one who wrote the crafting guide that most of us read afterall.

I doubt it. Any decent crafter, like Camie, could throw a full Facet set together in a day if they needed it and wanted to. I'm confident we'll have macros for the 3 star DoW/DoM set on day one because the toolkit doesn't allow for much variance and is tunneled into a version of Reflect-Manip-Ingen-Inno-Delicate Synths-Finisher. If we're following current trend, we won't even need an overmelded Facet set and prices will crash before even a week is over anyway. That's why we have less motivation, why bother putting in extra effort when it gives no reward? What are you missing out on?

Everything is riding on these "Expert" recipes.

What reward are you after gil?? Gil is easy too get and hard to get rid of not much of a reward. High stat tools? Well your own post just pointed out how useless they are currently, as their not being pushed to their limit. Seen more then my share of hardcore crafters say mounts, titles and glams are not a good enough reward. Starting to think the hardcore community does not have a bloody clue what it wants reward wise. One moment its gil, then its high stat gear, then its just the achievement of completing a hard craft. Do you guys have any clue what you want exactly? For me the reward is knowing I dont need others to craft any craftable item I may want.

I am going to take a guess and say what hardcore crafters really want is fame and notoriety. To have a small hand full of crafters on each server who stand at the top with slobbering masses at their feet. But your finding that achievements, tools, mounts, glam's,gil and even the coming leader boards just dont give you that.

That’s not correct at all, but let’s assume you’re right for a sec. Assuming you’re right, how exactly does someone choosing to play the game that way in any way shape or form affect you in the game? What gives you the right to, essentially remove, someone’s playstyle and how they enjoy the game? Can you answer me that?

Also, this is another reason why the crafting community in FFXIV is just straight garbage now. Half the time it’s hardcore and casual players going at each other’s throats. Half the time, it’s people asking for macros. It never used to be like this at all, it’s really sad.

Hardcore players make valid points = There’s still loads of players that want to argue just for the sake of arguing, not interested in a conclusion

Casual players make valid points = Will agree with them, but still want to argue, and make everything about them. It’s like some casual players aren’t interested in a conclusion, just arguing and being one-sided and/or trolling.

Sorry but someone had to say it.

Not attacking anyone and read my entire post so you dont waste my time. Your reaction to my post and the hardcore communities reaction to what SE is giving reward wise is points too you wanting just what I said. Causal community and SE know you want a challenge their trying to give it to you. But it when it comes to rewards, what their offering is not good by the way hardcore crafters are acting. Dont like guesses then say exactly what the hardcore community wants as rewards or stop complaining!! Its constant the whinning that rewards are not good enough and that your not being challenged that irks the causal community, especially when SE is trying to appease you.

Oh, I apologize. If I’m wasting your time, you are welcome to not respond. I’m just trying to understand. Also, we have made it very clear what rewards we would like to have, that was kind of a redundant statement. Do you really need me to link all threads and posts? Come on, lol. Also, you didn’t answer me. I asked you: assuming you’re right about hardcore players wanting things to be a “5%” endgame groupie thing, how does that in any way shape or form affect you as a player in FFXIV? How does that hinder you from participating in dungeons, raids, gathering, or crafting? Why does that have to be removed from the game? Because it angers you? Let’s start there.

Not answering the question cause it was not what I was addressing. I am well aware of the rewards everyones asked for and there lays the isssue...people are still complaining about rewards. SE is giving you skytools, leaderboards, titles, possibly mounts and transmogs who's knows what else. So your getting your High stat cool looking tools, your status symbols and ways to make gil, but yet you are still throwing a fuss!!!

Well, if you’re trying to make a sound argument, it would be good if you at least explain why you said what you said, about why being a “5% crafter” is something that affects you, as a player...and why it should be removed in the first place?

Also, there’s hardly any info on skytools, like , at all. We need to wait until the live letter on the 6th for further information. If it’s special and exclusive/rare kind of like Lucis tools were in 2.x, cool. If it’s not, and it’s something literally anyone with a copy/pasted macro can do, count me out fam lol. Might as well be giving me a golden sticker from kindergarten that says “you’re a super star!” It’s meaningless if that’s the case. If there’s a way to earn gil through expert recipes? Cool, count me in. Problem is, nothing has been confirmed yet for sure, and all you are doing is assuming.

    We need more information.

Never said it affects me I said you guys cant seem to fill that void. As for my statment it was a guess at why everyone cant seem to be content with what SE is offering. I further more have no desire to take things from hardcore players, I have achieved my goals so far with crafting. Expert recipes do not hold anything I need or want to achieve further goals, and will be for those who goals extend past mine who long for more. I have interest in crafitng magicked bed to ride but have no interest in Skytools if thats anything to go by my goals are vastly different.

Just to make stuff that feels worth making, really. It's not about the participation prizes or even gil.

This is something I don't get.

Yes, top crafters want to be good, even if it just means perseverance. They want to achieve things that not every player will reach. Why is it a crime to want to achieve something? You portray that as bragging toxic elitists who want the casuals "at their feet", when most of the high end crafters are nice people. They rarely brag. They'll freely offer advice. They spend countless hours theorycrafting the rotations and macros you use and writing guides to help the community. They want others to share in crafting and enjoy it.

Crafting right now is aimed towards players who don't actually enjoy crafting.
