I'm well aware of the reasoning that the development team put forward, though it doesn't really hold up to scrutiny for the reasons outlined in previous posts. I wouldn't consider Hrothgar to be hugely 'diverse', either - it's rare that I see one these days and those that I do see all seem to have the exact same face. They're also very bulky to the same degree as Roegadyn, which is weird since they're clearly meant to be a throwback to Ronso that weren't so oversized...

As for Monster Hunter World, it doesn't matter if it's a 'newer' game. I also brought up WoW earlier, which is an older game and as pointed out then I'll note that it not only updated the character models once already it intends to do as much with the upcoming expansion.
Regardless of Hrothgar or Viera having the same faces, I've seen wonderful character customization in terms of styles, fur colors and highlights. I have yet to see two identical Hrothgar and the players do a fantastic job with the resources they have. Also, on Aether there is a very large Hrothgar population, especially on Faerie.
