So they made 2 races instead of 1, but only had enough time for 1 gender of both. They also did this because it might be the last time they could make any new races because of the amount of time and resources it takes to make them in the fist place...not to mention the time it takes to fit the thousands of Gear Pieces to the models. Adding in the Hrothgar was also a move to give a much more Diverse option in making an avatar...since its the Only Playable Beast Race.

Also.....Monster Hunter World is a Newer and Much Different game with a much different game Engine. Comparing FFXIV to MHW is kind of weird.
Why does it need to 'stop', exactly? I'll note that - more often than not - it's people playing female characters who seek to downplay the concerns raised by those of us who play male characters.

I'm well aware of the reasoning that the development team put forward, though it doesn't really hold up to scrutiny for the reasons outlined in previous posts. I wouldn't consider Hrothgar to be hugely 'diverse', either - it's rare that I see one these days and those that I do see all seem to have the exact same face. They're also very bulky to the same degree as Roegadyn, which is weird since they're clearly meant to be a throwback to Ronso that weren't so oversized...

As for Monster Hunter World, it doesn't matter if it's a 'newer' game. I also brought up WoW earlier, which is an older game and as pointed out then I'll note that it not only updated the character models once already it intends to do as much with the upcoming expansion.
