It's sorely needed. The state of some of the character models is utterly abysmal. I don't doubt that Highlander men would be a much more popular option if they were able to avoid the 'same face' issue and/or had access to authentic eyebrows. Furthermore, WoW is actually expanding its character customisation for the second time. It already updated the character models a while back and has now made it clear that they'll be adding more customisation options over time. I have zero interest in WoW itself these days but I hope it causes FFXIV's development team to finally expand the character customisation to account for more than just new hairstyles.
