I realized none of the FFXIV races appeal to me, anyone else?

I enjoy Mi'qote, Aura and Viera. I have an Hyur character but she gets the least playtime these days and she's been with me for so long I don't really want to fantasia her.

Well, none of them do other than Midlander, which is why I chose one. I should backup though, and say that most of the races have appealing features to them, they are just not what I'm looking for when choosing a character. The elimination process was quite simple though. Non-human - out. Not female - out. Looks like a crossfit model during the offseason - out.

Where did I state the other races were not my cup of tea though? My entire problem is that the other races are my cup of tea BUT they all have things that I cannot deal with due to lack of actual customization.
Roegadyn has no explanation because I don't like that race personally and nothing will change that.

If they had added Viera males and had them stand about the height of female miqo'te or female au'ra and a more effeminate muscle build I likely would have fantasia'd to one. My issue with the male races in the game currently is that with the exception of lalafels which stand the height of most children or dwarves the male characters are too muscular in their design. A male doesn't need to have a mass of muscles to have a toned physique. The male miqo'te is probably the least muscular excluding lalafel but still look like to me they would weigh in between 180-200lbs. In this game I just would like to be able to play a male character closer to my own physical build. These preferences change game by game. In Phantasy Star Universe for example my main was a Male Cast that was quite tall with a powerful looking build while in Pandora Saga I played a male lapin which was bunny based race about as tall as a lalafel. The short time I played WoW my main was a female night elf as male characters outside of dwarves and gnomes had a similar issue to here.

I like Hrothgar but agree in general. The races are just so boring overall. Final Fantasy has so many weird and wonderful creatures and beastmen yet basically every race we get to play as boils down to big human/small human/human with weird ears.

I know they’ve said armour clipping is an issue. But they’ve made lots of armour not fit Hrothgar so they should try something a bit more out of the box with future races.

I feel the same way...I think that's why I used to fantasia a lot. I'd really love for there to be a weight slider, because I feel like that would make characters look more unique. Doubt that will ever happen though, so oh well. At least it's not WoW customization.

I quite like Hrothgar, nitpick that I could have been bigger (was hoping to be the biggest race XD), but I still quite like them lol. I don't really change my looks often so the hair issue doesn't bother me but I can see how that would severely impact other people's experience. Occasionally sad I can't use my helmet but I live (didn't use a helmet too often anyways lol), hopefully in the future SE has a model base that can be easier for them to manipulate.

I liked my Highlander but the no eyebrow thing.... raised my own eyebrows. Love the cuteness of lalafells but too small for viewing my own gear, imo . So mostly outside of those two races I don't really have an interest- Au Ra's dragon/beastly and succubus concept art pulled my heartstrings pretty hard but they don't really look like that.

I'm a Lalafell at heart but didn't realize the fact until after I'd become attached to my Miqo'te, so she's still my main. I like her and did my best to give her facial features a somewhat feline appearance but I really had in mind an Avatar-esque sort of look, minus the blue, and it's not possible.

Hyur, well.. they have nothing that stands out to me. I know, they are just your everyday human race and I get it but that never appealed to me as much in fantasy MMO's.

I like Lalafel but, mostly because of Shadowbringers with the new armor sets, also because I wanted a slightly silly/wacky option when going through the story. Which is why he is my main.
Elezen I would say are a close second to me. But that is mostly because the majority of characters I like are also Elezen.
Miqote / Roegaden / Hrothgar / Hyur / Viera / Au Ra (I'm just not that interested in playing any one of these).
