    No.
It's the same reason why Overwatch's director is literally begging to add one of the OW characters to Smash Bros, for a popularity boost in exchange of nothing for Nintendo.
The only reason why WoW would like to have a crossover event with FFXIV would be to desperately attract a handful of subs from the FFXIV playerbase to theirs. FFXIV's gain would be nearly null since everyone who already played WoW and got tired with it are already playing FFXIV.

That street hasn't been quite as one-way as you might think. Many of my old guildies I still speak to on Discord from time to time have taken in an influx of players who tried XIV as their first or second MMO but were disappointed (from reasons varying from poor leveling experience to little use of the open world to awkward tanking/healing paradigms, etc.) and since switched to WoW, be it retail or classic. But, yes, as it would be crossing over to here, WoW would be the one to receive the most benefit, and as they're less far willing to compromise identity in any way with crossovers (or really anything short of perhaps store mounts and bad plot twists?), I doubt it'd be reciprocated, which would make the chance of such a crossover almost null.

Personally, I don't think a crossover event would make much sense.
Both games essentially play the same, there wouldn't be anything new to bring like in the Rathalos encounter.
I can not remember that I was talking about gameplay.... So all the cars are the same because they have tyres and engines. I wonder why some prefer a Toyota over a Mazda then...? And all video games are the same because they have buttons to be pressed. All video game consoles are Atari clones! No?

I really dislike WoW because of it is a wanna-be of J.R.R Tolkien worlds. I am tired of dwarves with filthy beards swinging axes, ridiculously generic "Lich Kings" with glowing eyes from the box art covers (or Pandas), purple elves with 2 feet long ears and probably the most generic professions ever. "Rogue" anyone?
The gameplay aspect - if they are the same or not - does not matter in my case. It is about style. "Duke Nukem" could be the best shooter ever, but I hate the protagonist, so I do not play it. However, I like Maya from Borderlands 2, and many would go "Ewww, dat comic shooter" on reflex. Fine! But that is how I pick my games. And I do not want to have U.S. game influences here for obvious reasons. I like the aesthethics in here. When Shiva had her debut in the cutscenes, it was this typical JRPG look. WoW always tries to be Lord of The Rings.

You could argue about that, but if doubt you would pick the most hideous car even though it drives the best.

If WoW would be soooo great, how comes I am attraced to this game and spend hundreds of Euros here and exactly 0 Cents on Blizzard games?

I also dislike Yoshida a lot and also think he is not doing a good job since a couple of years, but that is just a side effect and has nothing to do about their relationships to other well-known developers.

When I boot up a game from such a great Franchise - and I talk about the "fantasy" Final Fantasy games, not the pseudo-realistic ones like X, XIII and XV - I expect it to stay true to itself. If you are an U.S. citizen and plant to have vacation in Germany, you would expect and eat at Bratwurst stands, not BurgerKings and KFCs.

Being different is nothing bad. Forcing in random stuff into other intellectual properties is most probably a decision by the suits, not by actual gamers by heart. Because both suit-wearing (usually non-gaming) executives do care about PR, no matter how the actual product is affected.

I'd love to bring back my DooM II event then. Kill the Cyberdemon. id Software has a cross over event with Square Enix because reasons:

Wouldn't that be cool?? It does not matter if it fits, right?! Because we love to butcher Final Fantasy IPs and more options are more fun and what you guys always say. id Software is also very well-known to the market, maybe some players join FFXIV or start to play DooM on the way....

But you don't have to particpate in those events!

Yeah, you are not at the neighbours party because you are not a party-goer, but still the music blasts over to your house and the drunk people make hell of a noise.

Or in other words: If there is a switch to turn that off, I would be fine.

    Sincerely,

Well, you might want to run away right now then, to avoid seeing people with the Zanarkand outfit, the Sanctum outfit or the Regalia...or the Fenrir Bike, or the Slime Crown...or the Garo gear...or the Power Rangers emote...

Sure, because the FFXV event being restricted to one FATE in Thanalan and several solo instances was such thrown in your face that you couldn't avoid it every time you logged into the game.

    Um...

    ESO:
    1. Universal scaling on everything. ALL content other than raids is scaled to what FFXIV would call 'expert'. A level 1 and a max level can adventure together.
    2. Gear remains 'mostly' constant - but has 'sets' that matter and make the difference in endgame.
    3. Infiniate 'champion points' means your character keeps expanding over time. There are hundreds of individual custom things to spend them on.
    4. Class/Job is largely meaningless - you build your character based on what weapons you pick up, what things you try to do. You get skill points, you spend them as desired.
    5. Combat is action based - not target based. You swing into an area - the first thing you hit gets hit, unless it's an AOE then anything in the spot you aim at is hit.
    6. Tanking is... weird... no threat table. Just an instant zero cooldown 15-second duration taunt (provoke). To tank multiple mobs you spam your taunt around the room - hoping to hit the right things and not something you already taunted. Mitigation is... holding up a shield to block, then using heavy attacks to recharge.
    7. Healing is... weird... you attack stuff to charge your resource, then spend it on healing abailities that are single or aoe or duo target. The single ones - you gotta 'hit-scan' aim that like it was Overwatch.
    8. The factions are... meaningless. I can make a character of faction A, and go to the capital of Faction B and grab a quest from their military general to attack my own side... It only matters when you enter PvP.
    9. Racial stats are EXTREMELY VITAL. Even after the patch to make them non-vital, they're still about 20% of your effectiveness...
    10. Crafting is highly customizable - you research new traits. Butonce you have them it's just 'click this button to craft that item'

    WoW:
    1. Scaling is highly limited. Outside of current expac it's in brackets by 'these couple expansions' but in dungeons it's not there.
    2. The classes make ALL the difference. You gain abilities as you level like in FFXIV. You can't just randomly pick up a staff or do a quest and gain fireball spells like in ESO. You can't just hit a key and stealth, and then improve it because you want to - these things are locked at level 1.
    3. There is minor tweaking with a small number of talents.
    4. Gear is everything.
    5. Factions cannot even talk to each other without using exploits (I think the pandas might be an exception).
    6. Racial stats are... about as important as they are in FFXIV.
    7. Tanking is all about having massive AoE threat. You walk in, hit one AoE, and have the whole room locked down. Like well, FFXIV 5.0
    8. Raid tanking has no MT or OT - it's a tank swap every X-seconds after a tankbuster.
    9. Healers only attack to kill time or get small buffs outside of a few classes that... are the exact opposite of that and mostly heal by attacking.
    10. Combat is tab-targeted like in FFXIV.
    11. There is no class/job switching like FFXIV.
    12. You craft the recipes your skill in a profession has unlocked, or that you found as drops from mobs. No researching and no crafting 'game' like FFXIV.

    - These two games are polar opposites. FFXIV sits very close to the WoW spectrum of that range.

A Crossover Event with WoW? Nah, no interest.

I honestly would welcome it. It won't hurt SE or Blizzard as both group of players are playing the games for different reasons; and if you don't like it, then just ignore it.

I have no idea how it will work unless Eorzea is somehow part of the pocket realm, though, which probably wouldn't be a good idea.

If it's a regular crossover, then it's not canon, so it doesn't matter.
