MSQ cutscene skipping against TOS?

It is an exploit. Exploits are against the ToS. Thank you to the person for posting that bit. It also disrupts the gameplay of others which is also specifically mentioned.

So by your logic, doing fates and getting agro then syncing back to your real level to tank the mobs for friends or others is also against the TOS because that's not how the game was intended. This is why I question this so much because I could go on for hours about small things like this that give the player a small gain by working around the system.

Fates aren't really part of the discussion, but if they considered that to be against the ToS I'm sure that they would have acted by now. It is their game, their rules. If you're looking for validation you aren't going to get any, at least from me. I will just keep telling you that you're wrong, which you are, because SE makes the rules and we have to follow them or risk punishment. If you don't like it then that's your problem, not mine.

I'm not attacking you. I'm simply telling you what the rules are, and that you are wrong in thinking that breaking them is okay. What you do with that knowledge is entirely on you. I'm upset yes. When theres things in the game that people do such as "selling clears" "Selling plots" "Breaking fakes" "Using third party programs for dps on streaming sites that GM's can clearly see" and many more, that are left unchecked, it makes me wonder what I can and can't do because clearly some things are in a grey area where others and black and white. I know the deal with housing but it still happens every single day and theres nothing done about it. People get things because they're rich IRL and it's ultra un fair and it's a huge part of the game. I'd love to own a large plot and have fun with it but I can't because you have people selling them for 500 times the price.

All I wanted was to find out if I can or can't do this with MSQ and in the topic I brought up points that argue the reasoning given but i'm just shot down. Why is it such a bad thing when people can pick to not waste 55 minutes and enjoy the MSQ. If they really want to, they can skip it too. It's no diffident from someone buying a skip potion on the mog station where others can't because they can't afford one.

You were "shot down" because you were wrong in thinking that it's okay. It's against the rules that SE put in place. That means it is not okay. It's really that simple. Just because there are worse things people could be doing, that doesn't suddenly mean a smaller breach of the ToS is any less significant. In fact, they take this particular breach rather seriously. Either way, you do you. Ultimately that is your decision to make.

Because some players genuinely enjoy watching the cutscenes and then fighting the bosses all in the same instance, especially on their first time? The Praetorium was a very epic instance when I first ran through it (I started after the cutscene skipping was blocked), and I can only imagine how ruined it would be if I didn't get to fight Ultima after watching the awesome cutscene build-up leading to it, I would have been in that outrage crowd very easily, it's very easy for me to see why they changed it.

And no, the magic would be pretty ruined too if I was told to go watch it in the unending journey.

Just fire up netflix or social media and enjoy getting hilariously huge amounts of exp for basically doing nothing for 3/4 of an hour.

I wouldn't do this with a first timer in the party. This is something we would do for the runs that everyones been in here before and want's to finish it quickly. Think of it as speed running a dungeon. This can be fixed by doing something so simple, if it really is a problem that SE doesn't want to happen. It's something that's been going on sense they added the no skip cutscenes.

This is in a grey area and I guess for most there is no such thing as grey areas and it's purely "you follow the rules to the T and anything you do that is no 100% intended is wrong, no matter how little it could be" Theres so many grey area topics that I could bring up to my point that SE doesn't ban you for but as they're in the grey zone, I don't want to bring them up in case this post gets locked or deleted. It's like an unspoken rule that both sides agree on but only in the conditions are right and the unspoken rules are followed. I'm not sure if you will know what I'm referring to or not but I just wanted to finish this off by letting everyone know I'm not for skipping if someone is new and they want to enjoy it.

People have already told that it's against ToS. Your reasoning is invalid and at the end of the day you and everyone else are guests on SE servers. Their house, their rules. Why did I quote this particular post and not the first one? Because over time, peoples true motives often come out once they see people not validating their reasoning; case in point.

As far as I have read, people have been pretty nice in their responses. Just telling you what's up, and it's your choice if you wish to risk it.
