I haven’t seen anything that proves that you’re right. Your statement was “this is a useless feature and no one will use it”. Meanwhile, there’s a substantial amount of posts in this thread proving that statement wrong. You’re speaking your opinion—you aren’t speaking facts. Ok...The proof is all over the reactions on this thread. You are purposely ignoring them. There is no substantial amount of people that will use the feature on this thread. There's a group of yes-men trying to talk those of us that are dissatisfied from express our views. That is toxicity. Some will use the feature honestly. But it will be a very select group, because you only have to think about it. If there is no progression in the system it's a system that will compete for attention with systems that actually progress your character, wich is basically the rest of the game. It will therefore see low activity numbers. Sorry if the truth hurts or is too hard to grasp. If you want to pretend that isn't the case go right ahead. Not my business.

You're allowed to not like and criticize how NG+ is implemented, but don't just write the feature off because you personally have a gripe with it.

Honestly all i have heard in this thread are excuses. The system would be much better if it had Xp rewards. If you don't agree, your deal. But let other people express that in peace. We don't need a fan club in our face when we want something in the game to be better.

This feature is not made for you. That's fine. You don't need to use it. Not everything needs to be for everyone.

Ultimate is not made for me. I do not attempt it. I also don't sit on the forums and complain about it and ask for it to be nerfed to suit my desired playstyle because I want the shinies from it.

They created this mode because WE ASKED FOR IT. We said: Please let us replay the STORY. And guess what? They have the metrics that YOU DON'T SEE to know EXACTLY how many people want it. The number of vocal people on a FORUM (and only in English) is pretty insubstantial.

And I have news for you as well - Heavensward and Shadowbringers STORY are both touted as massively popular. People WILL flock to reply them... even without the exp 'carrots'. There are moments that people actually want to see again. ESP in Shadowbringers. If this isn't for you, that's OK. Just stop trying to drag it down because it isn't your cup of tea.

Really don't understand why people would be against having XP awarded for redoing the story. No different than starting a new character. Just make it so you can only get the XP once per job. This would not impact the roulette since you would need to go through all the dungeons and trials to progress the story and get the XP.

So people can't communicate well on the internet go figure Regardless, there would be more people using it if we can get XP and level alternate jobs via the story vs side quests, fates, etc. I don't see why people would argue against that. I know that would be my preferred path for leveling as it would be more entertaining.

Because on the FFXIV forums, there is a fervent wall of resistance to anything and everything someone could suggest to change to game. This isn't the first time I've seen that resistance devolve into simply sneering down at the very suggestion and the people that want it too.

You keep saying we are all toxic, when you're the one who came into this thread looking for a fight. You've been nothing less than hostile at people who don't agree with you, acting as if your opinion is the only correct one and that you speak for every player who wanted New Game Plus.

Maybe you should take a moment, re-read your comments in this thread, and see that people are being combative because you haven't been pleasant in the slightest.

Your desire for wanting XP or rewards in New Game Plus is allowed. Me saying I don't care and I just want to replay the story is allowed. I'm no more right than you are. In the end, these forums are to express opinions, and no one opinion is more important than the other. Also, if people don't use the feature...that's their personal choice.

This was designed for players (like me) who play this game mainly for the story experience, which is why I play a STORY-based MMO...if the story didn't exist, I wouldn't even bother with this game and I am not alone in that.

You need to re-think your approach and realize you can express your desire to gain something without putting others down who don't agree with you.

It's the way this was presented: 'Omg, they didn't put this in! It's now trash!'

And the counter was: 'Well, it wasn't put in because x, y, z reasons... most likely. BTW, it isn't trash... we really want it and we're happy with how they're giving it to us anyway. We don't need the carrots to enjoy it. It's fine.'

And it goes from there. Honestly, exp is thrown out like candy. EVERYTHING gives out exp as far as I'm aware. The one new thing they add that doesn't and people jump on it to call it 'worthless', I kind of want to call shennanigans on. So it can't be used as a grind tool, okay. Then they honestly didn't intend for it to be... but that doesn't invalidate it or what they intended it to be for. That's all.

I'm more disappointed in the solo instances being levelsynced. It makes sense, sure, but I'd rather they were unsynced so i could breeze it since i already beat them legit. In fact, I was kind of looking forward to curb stomp some solo instances I struggled with a lot.
