Really don't understand why people would be against having XP awarded for redoing the story. No different than starting a new character. Just make it so you can only get the XP once per job. This would not impact the roulette since you would need to go through all the dungeons and trials to progress the story and get the XP.

So people can't communicate well on the internet go figure Regardless, there would be more people using it if we can get XP and level alternate jobs via the story vs side quests, fates, etc. I don't see why people would argue against that. I know that would be my preferred path for leveling as it would be more entertaining.

Because on the FFXIV forums, there is a fervent wall of resistance to anything and everything someone could suggest to change to game. This isn't the first time I've seen that resistance devolve into simply sneering down at the very suggestion and the people that want it too.

It's the way this was presented: 'Omg, they didn't put this in! It's now trash!'

And the counter was: 'Well, it wasn't put in because x, y, z reasons... most likely. BTW, it isn't trash... we really want it and we're happy with how they're giving it to us anyway. We don't need the carrots to enjoy it. It's fine.'

And it goes from there. Honestly, exp is thrown out like candy. EVERYTHING gives out exp as far as I'm aware. The one new thing they add that doesn't and people jump on it to call it 'worthless', I kind of want to call shennanigans on. So it can't be used as a grind tool, okay. Then they honestly didn't intend for it to be... but that doesn't invalidate it or what they intended it to be for. That's all.

I'm more disappointed in the solo instances being levelsynced. It makes sense, sure, but I'd rather they were unsynced so i could breeze it since i already beat them legit. In fact, I was kind of looking forward to curb stomp some solo instances I struggled with a lot.

I only want it to give EXP,i find lvling alt jobs from 1 to 50 boring and awful,so id rather replay the story for exp instead but eh
i dont mind replaying ShB/HW so im down for it either way

There's a fine line between asking and saying .Content trash no xp.No xp devs ignored what all the players.Nobody will play content etc.
At the end of the day optional content is optional content and nothing more.
There's been a trend over the last 2 years of people trashing content because it doesnt give them what they personally want and their way of justifying it is by claiming majority of the community wants the same thing as them without any strong evidence to back their claims.
Some content i dont like and i dont do.So yeah i deal with it.If i complained about content designed for others i wouldnt consider it being toxic if someone told me to deal with it as id be in the wrong if i was crying over optional content.At the end of the day it's a game and some people need to stop treating it like it's some kind of job where we need to demand se to give us rewards to do this optional 'work' for them.
