Why would someone spend a long time in duty, having to pay attention to mechs, potentially wiping several times etc when they could just face roll in a Crystal Tower raid (less so WoD as it can still cause small number of wipes). Essentially that's the harsh reality of it, a group of players want the easiest route with the least resistance.

I'm pretty sure the trials and leveling Roulettes (daily bonuses) give a fixed reward based on a percentage of your level, (obviously taking in to account any exp from mobs etc in the duty) so I don't think it matters how long the actual duty is whether you get Steps of Faith or something else.
