I can definitely see what people mean when they say death is more punishing to a scholar than an astrologian, but it still feels worse to me on astrologian. It could just be that I have more experience with scholar, so my response to death is more along the lines of "yeah, okay, dead, I can deal with this", whereas I tend to get more derailed as an astrologian.

But I think it's also because:

Losing mana and time is a serious detriment, but I don't mind so much because it's an interesting hurdle to overcome. Getting back on track without sufficient mana can actually be kind of fun.

Whereas losing all the work you've put into seals and divination doesn't really make that much difference, but it's more discouraging to me because the work I did counted for nothing.

(Losing my fairy gauge is a bigger problem, but since I mostly use aetherpact for trash pulls I'm fine with just ignoring it until the gauge builds back up.)

Fairy gauge? Really not sure I actually care about it since the use is barely there anyway. Just some perspective to think about before claims are voiced was my only intention. Yeah the initial reaction to death as Scholar for me is oh no now I have to pop this lucid + Aetherflow and lustrate only if I don't have enough time for this Adlo which I almost always do. swifty fairy and we ready. But just because I can react this way doesn't mean the class doesn't take a hit from it.
