Sin Eaters

So my question is why the name «sin eater» and not lightsent? If the r suppose to be the opposite of voidsent why is that Sin eater can eat humans and turn them into so called «sin eaters». I mean i want both to be equal but so far the sin eaters seems to be a better league than voidsent...

Same reason as why Eulmore is not Limsa Lominsa, why Lakeland is not Mor Dhona, and why Dwarves are not Lalafell. We're on a different world. They have different names for things here.

EDIT: And why they don't function the same? Well, maybe they do. Or maybe Voidsent prefer destruction over domination. Sort of like D&D Demons vs Devils. Lawful Evil and Chaotic Evil.
