There's nothing wrong with Continuation the way it is. If you really want to de-bloat on GNB it would be the Gnashing Fang combo itself that should be adjusted, not Continuation. As it is right now, you can only execute the GF combo in a strict 1-2-3 sequence. The other buttons aren't even active/able to be pressed except during their specific window in the GF combo. As such, it would make perfect sense to combine the three of them into a single button that changes as the combo progresses (like PVP combos). Since there is no way to even press the combo in the wrong order, there really isn't much downside to doing this.

This would preserve the flavor/feeling of Continuation being like the 'trigger pull' action of playing gunblade in FFXIV (where you are just pulling the one trigger while doing different things), while also reducing MORE buttons than simply baking Continuation into each particular Gnashing Fang combo button. (4 -> 2 vs. 4 -> 3).
