Male Viera as a playable character! show your support

I don't think Hrothgar's body type suits male Viera at all. It was also strange that they based their body off of Roegadyn when in FFX they seem more similar to Au Ra/Highlander (Khimari at least). I still think a good solution would be to have different body types for Veena and Rava while still sharing similarities in their faces.

Two body types would be effectively 2 new races. SE would have to create and fit everything to 2 body types, and if you do that for both genders, we are talking about effectively 4 races here. Implausible, so no, it wouldn't be a good solution. Being that they didn't include the other genders for these reasons.

What does a rabbit like face even entail in this context? If it's some chinless, buck-toothed wonder, I somehow doubt that'll fit within the rubric of "handsome". I certainly don't think the artwork that was posted earlier could be considered handsome, as well drawn as it may be.

The females look like humans at first glance, the only 'rabbit-like' features are the nose to an extent (the tip) and the position of the mouth to the nose.

I disagree. To me, it looks like the twitter user was taking the female viera's rabbit-like facial structure into account for their own model. Many of the other races including Hyur, Elezen, Miqote, and so on do offer a softer face as an option in the character creator. If male viera is implemented into the game, I would like a softer face similar to the model I had posted earlier as one of the options.

Yeah, I'm just not seeing the rabbit like features at all even in the 3d model. It just looks like a 15 y/o face at best. I am talking about the actual model, not the art. So it being an adult and it being "just the artstyle" has no bearing. Looks good for a male viera before they leave for the wood, or right when they leave (After puberty)! Great concept for a viera if we see one in the game that is around Alphinaud/Alisaie's age range!

This one. It can't be confused with artstyle since it is a 3d render. I definitely do not see any rabbit-like features in the face.

The person who drew that is also working on a 3D model of their character, which I thought looked really nice.

It's obviously not done yet, but this is what this particular face would look like in 3D. I would like to have something like this as a face option. The model is based off the drawing I think.

The face is similar to that of miqo'te.

It is very likely that the male viera face will look similar to male miqo'tes face, or have rabbit-like features. The concept art I showed before furthers that point, but I will present another art piece from the other concept art to further this point even more:

He even has the hairstyle every kid had back in 2008. It might be unfinished, but they would have to change it drastically to add actual 'rabbit-like' features. Of course if male viera actually came out they would probably have features similar to that of the females, 'rabbit-like' nose/mouth. That's a given.

I disagree. As Alleo had mentioned before, we also have to understand the japanese can have a different view on what handsome means. Yoshida mentioned they would be slim, elegant, and handsome, and the concepts show this quite clearly. Yoshida muses on about how the male viera face would look - similar to that of male miqo'te. The concept art shows this as well. I suppose the face is not handsome by western standards, but it is a handsome, adult male face by another culture's standards.

The model I presented looks similar to that of the concept art above.

The twitter user mentioned they were using Aymeric's hair as a base. The hair will probably look different on the completed model.
