Has anyone been able to uncover any lore regarding male Viis on the first?

It seems Viera in the Source are being killed and subdugated by the Empire - this coincides well with comments regarding the 'hares being rounded up' when talking to some fellow during the 24man. Now Sophie was part of the resistance, I'm unsure if she was from the wood itself. But yes, she states that her family, as well as her homeland, was taken from her. A possibility that Viera populate outside of the wood, have families? That whole family units leave the wood? Or that the Imperials went into the wood and slaughtered them.

i have the distinct feeling that we'll see male viera and female hrothgar npcs in future patches which will signal that they are indeed coming

Cripes and criminy, the genderlock is even more ridiculous in action. It's like half the world is Kardashians, it looks silly. I mean, things already look silly as is which is all well and good, but this is pointedly ridiculous. (Of course, the number of Hrothgar is far, far lower than the sheer amount of lapin Instagram Influencers running around... that don't mean that these lion kings don't deserve their ladies, it's just that... we could feel this coming. In the air tonight, even.)

I hope they note this popularity and consider evening things out with the dudes because this. This is Looney Tunes. I swear that Bugs Bunny is among this lot in drag waiting to plant a big ol' smackeroo on Thancred before clubbing him over the head with his own gunblade and delivering a witty one-liner directly to the camera.

Just a question...

Is she referring to Dalmasca? Or the Wood? Because if she was a Viera who left the latter she can't return, so the subjugation of Dalmasca means she'd have nowhere to go.

There aren't even regular naming conventions up (although interestingly, some Viera surnames are the names of towns in previous Ivalice games, so they probably use their hometown as a surname?). My theory is that we're getting the full races of the first + Viera/Hrothgar conventions at the same time and that's why it's taking so long.
