More Vii lore; DO NOT READ IF YOU DO NOT WANT SPOILERS. I will be talking to every single Vii in this village and will update accordingly. This includes dialogue that you won't get from quests. I will update when I can.

Personal thoughts; I'm not sure if this meant that for the Vii, males were actually in charge - they had a King/Emperor. Could be that the Ronka Rulers were male Vii - seems doubtful as the Empire fell before the flood. Most if not all of the elders perished to save the children. The village seems to be all that remains of the children that survived and a few elders. Will update when I find out more. I don't see any child Vii here either. Speculation at this point lol. But what is obvious is that the Vii were royal guards to the Emperor. And what's more obvious is that the vii here are going face to face with an extinction crisis. Their numbers are pitiful...

    Updating; progression -

Looks like one of them is with child and is about to give birth? Will give an update with that as I go along.

Confirmed to be a Viera child - might be a mixed race kid? Will edit as I go along.

Looks like their children are very rare, very rare indeed. Considering they slap all who enter the wood at the time that it's very much likely that it was a male who did the deed. And recent at that, last year or so.

    More on Vii males.
    And, there we go. Yerp.

I'd find it odd if they precisely mirrored the Viera in their lifestyles, but perhaps the males live in separate villages in their case, some of which were wiped out by the sin eaters... total eradication would be a salient point for an NPC to bring up, but it was not, leading me to think it's not the case. They don't refer to themselves as doomed, so there must be something else going on. Either way, I really enjoyed the foray to their village.

These are Viis of The Ronkan Empire specifically descendants of the royal guard charged with protecting Ronkan ruins secrets in wait of Ronkan allies. It is implied that the Ronkan empire chose the Viis for their long lifespans as one reason for them to take up this objective. These are NOT your average Viis, and all other regular Viis would be referred to as "outsiders". This is a closed off group/tribe in that specific location. Again, these aren't viera, and these Viis are also all the Veena equivalent, there are no Rava to be found. I wouldn't look to deep in the first's lore around the equivalent races; they aren't the same.

On the subject of male viera, one of the sidequests has you assisting in the birth of a Viis child, but they don't allow you to see them. So that has to imply that there are still some males around, and this wasn't mentioned as seemingly "rare" thing either. Male Viis are still around, just not seen by you the player. Similarly, hrothgar females are also lightly touched in the MSQ when you need to activate the golem. How the ronso Magnus lost his wife in a cave in, he says her name, and her name is probably a ronso name, and he was having a child with her. I would assume she was a female ronso aka hrothgar.

    Obvious spoilers below.

With me its the similarities in how they live. The Viera have the same lifestyle which is hard on the whole 'outsiders = no' unless there is something that allows them to reach out. For the VII it was the words of their passed Emperor who they have revered for centuries, protecting the ruins and the knowledge - this is reminiscent of the Viera who were also nomadic and then settled down and given a home by the wood. They now protect the wood and honour the female spirit/elemental of the wood. What's more, is that in one of the side quests the highest of the spiritual leaders - the shaman of rites etc, went up and just went 'our way of living is not sustainable anymore, we need help.' And thus now accepts outsiders as long as they help. This is the same questline that revolves around how one vii wishes to leave the wood - which is still exile at this time - but wishes to leave to find other vii and bring them back. While the twin that is staying behind is promising to make the village more accepting of these Vii. For which the shaman/spiritual leader agrees. I think said leader is also a Rava, her eyebrows are too on point. They're just not dark-skinned, they might not have a difference in clans. So vii who leave are allowed to come back. So, you do the quests you find that the Vii after centuries of living in such a way are changing. This could possibly be the same in the future for our Viera in the first going through similar situations. The Viera in the source are in danger, that is shown in the GNB storyline.

And due to what is happening in the Empire at the end of the available story... well... yeah. Anyway, this has shown that centuries of a way of living can be unravelled when the need for it arises. And finally, male Viera OP - imagining killing enemies 1hit KO, then scampering off before we even get to look at them. Least now it stops naysayers going 'There are no male Vii/Viera' because there most certainly are - and damn, do they aim to kill. Fingers crossed we finally see them!
