Male Viera as a playable character! show your support

As someone who has always really liked the idea of playing an Elezen, but then instantly regrets the fantasia, Viera are definitely a bit of "Elezen done right" to me.

I've always wanted them to have softer/rounder features (like Aymeric & the twins), better proportions, and perhaps remove that stick from their bums while they run.

Insert Viera! They've got the height and the more serious personalities like Elezen, but they were able to remedy the things I didn't like about Elezen.

Now obviously these are different races, and I feel that they do look/act different enough to not be a problem - but when you compare the two side by side, it's not a MASSIVE difference. If they gave male Viera the same type of "upgrade", I think that could work quite well.

Just a couple of examples for you:



These aren't perfect comparisons - the first picture was taken with both of their faces looking straight at the camera. The stances are a bit different, so I think it's a bit harder to gauge from this angle. For the second set, I had the clever idea to make skin/hair match better, and also tried to have their navels in the center in order to get a more accurate shape comparison. Again, not perfect, but at least will give an idea

This is a good comparison. It really does look like the female viera model is based off the elezen model here, and I think if male viera were to be added, they will probably be based off an elezen model as well. I just think that's what they will do most likely. From what I noticed, the female viera have less broader shoulders than the elezen, as well as a bigger head, and shorter neck. That really makes all the difference, and it looks great. When I get a chance, I'll draw up a male elezen to male viera comparison.

Everyone can like what they want, so lets just not try to put down another view just because they are not your beauty standard.

You are misunderstanding. In the case of posting your own artwork to just show your support, I have not seen people shutting down and debating over that except mine. Probably because it's me lol

I'm not going to change the OP because I do not want to have to update the OP every time some kind of news comes out. Even now, I'm getting people telling me to update the OP to include everyone's fanart. It's a good idea, but I prefer a more hands off approach for topics. In fact, I regret editing my OP in the first place. In my original viera thread, I did not edit the OP - I did this on purpose. Even though at times I did want to edit my post, I refrained from doing so because I wanted the OP to remain untouched. In this thread, I did edit the OP due to a lot of requests to do so. However, I'm not going to do that anymore. The last edit to this OP was on 04-02-2019 and I do not want to touch it anymore. Just let it be. I'd like for this to be the last time I address this subject.

You aren't the only one. I have had negative comments towards my artwork too. I know exactly how it feels to put so much time into something just to have it shot down. I feel you.

I think a hands on approach should be taken with a popular thread like this. Especially when active users from this forum are producing great art, like yourself, in support of male viera. This forum, not twitter or whatever. I think if it was going to be edited a few choice pieces would be a great addition to it!

Yeah, so does slender, tall, elegant female in female Elezen.

If you put Hrothgar side by side with Roe, you can see they have near exact the same skeleton. Scale, carve, and pose the model and you have a Hrothgar.
At this point this is all refinement. Shrug.

Please do not get it twisted. I don't think the negative comments on your art came because people were debating the body type in your art, or shutting down that body type or your vision. We have experienced two different things and it's not the same. People wrongly assumed your art was meme art meant to mock people.

However, if people are posting their own artwork to show their support, I think maybe people should reconsider debating or shutting down that artist's vision, and just let them show their support.

I agree, we might have different looks on our vision of Viera, but we both just want the same thing in the end! The missing gender added!

As i have stated myself some pages ago, i'd love them to fill in that wood elve niche, mystical savage forest people. and no male elezen sadly don't fill in that niche for me personally- otherwise i'd switch to them in a heartbeat.

bodywise i think both extremes wouldn't be played alot imo. too slender and androgynous or too big/bulky and muscular would only be played by a small percentage of people. i think something between hyur, elezen, au'ra and miqo (yes miqo men are pretty athletic) will attract most people (just my opinion tho, i could be horribly wrong).

i'd rathe prefer some bodytypes as showed in the pictures below. just imagine some bunny ears on them and give them some viera features(bunny nose from f vieras for example).
these are just my two cents tho, since i think if SE will ever implement them, i think they'll do a great job anyways!







the left one here seems abit bulkier, i'd love both of them tho!

Viera don't live in a forest, they live in a jungle. Jungle is more like this, ruthless



Forest is like this, tame and half of the year cold. This is where Elves (Elezen are from)
