I don't thinks they all fall in really one category (every race has its own niche in fact), but if we will separate races into few obviuos archetypes, there will be:
- Roe, Highlanders, Hroths
- Auri somewhere here inbetween
- Elezens
- Midlanders, Miqo'te
- Lallafels

Also I don't think they will do them based on quotas (as if they ever did?). But since they just added big looking race and also at least Yoshida had an idea how they could look, it seems as male Viera could fall into category "Elezen + Miqo'te + Au Ra" (considering his description and which is also fits the race), so infact will be in one with Auri because of their being somewhere inbetween few other options.

That kind of mix wouldn’t be too bad depending on how they achieved it, although I’ll say miqo’te really pull it off in terms of having fluid animations inspired by felines, so I presume something similar is meant.

I do hope they add a muscle tone slider for them and also go back and add one for Au Ra. They’re as bulky as highlanders but they didn’t emphasise it in the muscle tone, which is a pity.

Highlander are actually pretty short by FFXIV male standards

I remember I wrote about it somewhere, but we don't "have enough short options" we have "army of gigantic races that make others look like kids compare to them". Highlanders are still very tall. Vieras are would be tall anyway between Elezens and Auri I believe, so I mostly mean body type, not height.

Also comparing height system in BnS and and FF14 is a little bit incorrect, because they don't have counts there (so we don't really know character's height) and also BnS character creator has much more freedom in a lot of places. It would be good if we had the same, but we don't.

As for faces - ehmmm. Technically, every race has it's own fierce, handsome, young and old looking options (exept females, they are all cute waifus), so I don't think Viera would be any different from this, they probably would have same variety.

Which means you're set as far as that Aymeric/pretty boy archetype goes. You don't need male Viera to be the same.

I actually only assume how they could look based on what Yoshida said about them. My preferences can determine if I will play as one or not, but do not really determine a lot how they possibly could look, because I prefer to base my assumptions on Yoshida's words (or at least on translations since I not always can read original sources). My opinion is still subjective and can be biased in some aspects, though, same as any other in this thread. There is nothing criminal in that. We are all just people.

If they will add just 4 bishounen faces it will be same boring as having 4 grumpy faces, especially when we actually have a variety of concepts for other races. I will be okay with anything what they will add, I just do not share position "we need strong looking grumpies or nothing" same as I do not share position "we need bishounens or nothing".

We need option. Will be perfect if they will make it having features that big range of players will find appealing to them (which sadly mostly goes only to faces, where team has the most freedom, since we can't have custom body types at least yet). Everything else is up to devteam.

P.S. to message with Castanic: they are actually quite good example for possible body type.

I actually spend a lot of time making this art, and I use gimp 2. It might not be a style you are used to but it is mine and I am practicing, for fun. I wanted to draw some male vieras, and have been continuously attacked the past couple pages. I will ignore this and draw a commission someone asked me to draw. I actually have drawn a lot of things people asked me to draw. Being singled out just because my artwork isn't to your "standards" is very disconcerting, and frankly, insulting. I actually spend a lot of time making this art, it isn't low effort.

I also get a lot of likes, and positive feedback for my art. So, please stop naming and shaming me, and attacking me.

I love the attention to detail in your art! The mysterious figure lurking in the hollow of the tree trunk is a nice touch! It conveys a wonderful sense of danger hiding behind every corner.

I add stuff like that all the time, but apparently people here are calling my work "childish, low effort, meant to irk others". What makes my art any of those things?

I appreciate you actually looking at the details in my work, you are one of the few who I know enjoys it. I am glad some people can smile at something I made, I spent quite a bit of time on this piece too.

How exactly is my art ever meant to be a "jab" at anyone most of my art has been about a no named lalafell, a carrot sword, and now a male hrothgar gunbreaker. You are continuing to throw veiled insults at me, and it is frankly uncalled for.

I didn't call you out by name, though. When I saw your artwork, I saw that you had good concept of how to draw muscle, even if the artwork appeared to be a doodle to me. I assumed you just weren't giving your all.

SturmChurro's artwork often has more detail in it than the sketch that Matsuno commissioned. I'll continue to sing the praises of SturmChurro's art as it does an excellent job at portraying both Viera and Hrothgar.

Hrothgar, in particular, are pretty difficult to draw I imagine since they have feline features to account for.

But, no matter what some may say or subtly imply within this thread, there will always be people eager to see more of it. Myself included, of course!

I'm honestly sorry you were banned, and I think you were an amazing addition to this thread, and your pressence always made ppl more chill, which was needed most of the time.
Then, if someone insults you, I recommend you just ignore them and follow doing what you want. I, for instance, some pages ago, was being attacked by everybody on this thread and even ppl who never used it before, so in the end I just ignored it until it stopped.
It's your decision if you want to do so or not, but I'd really appreaciate if u could stay on this thread

Btw, I myself draw a lot, and your art style is super personal, and I quite enjoy your art. I don't think it's childish at all, and it's quite clear that the amount of details on it isn't just doodles
