Yes, I play female characters without a fetish, don't take it further than gameplay, but let's not pretend there aren't men who aren't playing them for specific fetish reasons. There are countless weebs playing cat girls for that. It is highly prevalent in this game.

Well, yeah. The mod community can attest to that. But I would dare to venture out and say that the majority of the males playing female characters are likely doing it for simpler reasons: better looking gear, MORE gear, generally better looking characters over all. No one is playing any kind of game to intentionally play an ugly character beyond making it a joke and not carrying it to end game. I would say most people are playing something they visually thoroughly enjoy and that in and of itself doesn't have to be sexual. I'm a female, I play my characters as absolutely pretty and busty as I can make them, sometimes I wear armor that makes sense, sometimes I'm a bikini mage. But I also play male characters and I make them as handsome and masculine as I can (hello Highlander daddy face) and dress them badass. Sometimes I make pretty boy Au Ra to have that pretty boy knight in shining armor affect. None of it is in favor of anything sexual, I'm not getting off to pixels, I'm not turning them into some kind of fetish.

I have like 10 alts. I can easily say: there are absolutely ways to make lovely pretty boys without needing to make them a "submissive", fetish twink.

Okay clearly me using the word “submissive” triggered people lol I don’t want it for fetish reasons and I don’t want a complete girly girl or a male that looks like a girl. I’m meaning as a soft face, technically the elegant face would fit under soft. Just because they are fierce doesn’t mean they have to look like animals, look at the women. They are suppose to be fierce but they look soft. I just want multiple options instead of highlander with very similar face structures. I want there to be a face that makes them look like hot badasses with their scars (face options) or another with a beard or at least stubble (also optional) another could have the fur patch or maybe all faces could get it. Hopefully all. I just want a combination of different faces that could still look bad ass. Maybe one face could actually look more beast like, similar to the concept they have. I just want something I can still be attracted to (not sexually) just appealing to me but I can also try to resemble myself. If not then it’s fine I can still go with the colors and tattoos I normally have and still have it being me. But even the most rugged face could still look fem depending on the face options and tattoos and clothing. I just don’t want them to the extreme.

Agreed, I actually don't even know what a "submissive" preset would even look like, and I highly doubt the viera would get that treatment. The females in general seem to look more stern for the most part; older than some of the other race's female counterparts - but can still look young and cute - with the same face! I think they were done very well. I think if they were to come out the males would look very similar. Masculine, maybe slightly aggressive presets. The elegant that someone described a page or two ago. Definitely not "submissive" though.

Also, I would like to apologize if I've come across as abrasive to some in this thread. I'm still young and would describe myself as "dumb" in the sense I have a tendency to speak before I think. I'm still learning how to properly formulate a response in my head before simply allowing my emotions to spit out the first response that comes into my head. So if I've upset anyone, I'm sorry, that really isn't my intent.

That being said, this is also how I've found myself confusing myself on the point of equating elegance with feminine. Both Arngrim and Amnmaat have actually corrected me on that, so, genuinely, thanks guys. So, with seeing as how just wanting elegant options alongside rough/rugged options is all I'm looking for; I personally find I don't have any skin in the masculine/feminine debate. I'd be fine with however they turn out in that regard. However, I have a feeling the masculine option is going to be much more likely seeing as how feminine the female Viera are. I think SE would want to make a masculine mViera to complement that. That's just my guess though, and only time will tell of course.

PS: I also have been having a lot of fun practicing my debating skills on you guys, even if I haven't been doing it so well. So, thanks for that too guys.

You really have nothing to apologize over, certain posters have just been handling anything that goes against their own personal interpretation of male viera very poorly and aggressively shooting those opinions down. It's nothing really all that new.

Now let’s get back on topic. People need to know this thread is for suggestions and opinions. Their opinion might not be even close to how you think male viera will look like. Even with the facts we have, still let people express their ideas. There’s no need to cause hate just because you “know” it won’t look like that. It’s just an idea and there’s nothing to get upset about. If people want to talk about twinks, let them. If people want to talk about muscle heads, let them. I personally just want something neutral (from what I’ve been saying this whole time) if they are manly then I hope it’s not a stereotype and we get a bulky guy like roe or hrothgar. it might be elezen height and or body type or it might be an au ra height or body type. We don’t really know all the facts. We just know they are tall and might be like a boxer type of build with an elegant elezen type of feel.

It seems like you're consistently using words with no objective meaning in the manner in which you're applying them and then not understanding why people don't get what you're saying. You're kind of going in circles sometimes too, like where you said "But even the most rugged face could still look fem depending on the face options and tattoos and clothing" this... doesn't make sense and is just not true. Try to make the aforementioned highlander "daddy face" feminine - it just isn't happening.

When you're using words to describe aesthetics that don't have an actual concrete definition in relation to appearance (submissive, bada**, soft) you make it so that no one can fully wrap their head around your idea. Rather than this kind of description (or lack thereof) you could try posting art or pictures of what you mean or even attempt to actually describe it.

As an example; male Viera in my mind are tall and well-defined but not bulky. They've got broad shoulders with strong arms but with legs to match due to the nature of their survival. No vanity muscles, just what functions best in the forest. They'd likely have large hands for their bodies as well, like the females do, as that would certainly prove handy living in a jungle/forest type setting.

Their hair is either long and unkempt or kept short for the sake of ease, though neither cut would likely be performed with much precision as their solitary lifestyle would mean they're their own hairdressers more often than not. I'd imagine many would also have facial hair by default for similar reasons, though like their haircuts this could change when they started to live among the rest of the world.

Facially they're likely conventionally attractive (if the females are anything to go off of) with many having hooded, almond eyes and strong facial structure through their cheekbones and jaw. This would be all the more pronounced by their lack of general body fat, I could definitely see some combinations coming off a bit gaunt. Noses are a real toss up - with the rest of the features in mind I would naturally lean towards a straight, long nose to hold up against the rest of their features as that often looks best on men but I think including a more bun-nose option wouldn't be a bad idea for those who wanted that extra Viera flair. I would also think scar options should be included for sure, perhaps even on the body since this is all kind of a dream-world scenario.

Okay I’ll try my best to explain, I know I was going all over the place because I was trying to explain it in different ways thinking people would understand. My meaning of submissive is basically a pretty boy, I don’t tend to use the word submissive/dominant as in sexual terms I use them to describe the type of guy, submissive being pretty (not girl like) just attractive and cute. As for dominant I use for manly guys. I don’t want a complete twink, I don’t want a twink at all actually. I’m sorry if this is still confusing but I don’t know another way to explain it but moving on.

Now for describing how I’d like them to look. I’d like to have the height similar to au ra or maybe a bit taller. As for the body type I’d want something in between miqote and au ra. I really hope they aren’t bulky like roe or hrothgar, even highlander is a bit bulky but might just be the tone of the muscles that I dislike but those body types just don’t appeal to me. Attractive, badass looking, but also has a soft feel to it. I think we should get options to have scars, facial hair, tribal markings, maybe a beast like feature? Nose?

What else I’ve also wanted added would be the fur patch on their chest. I think it’s unique and would fit them very well. I also think they should get options with long hair and maybe even markings on their body’s (tribal markings or scars) to show they protect the forest and are guardians.
