Definitely. I was also told 'oh, they are all oGCD Larryzaur says so!' and was actually kinda glad for a second there; then I looked at the tooltips and could tell you instantly that they aren't.
Oh...
...If they're not oGCD, then what was the point of adding them? Because they're instant cast? >x>

For all the salt I'm throwing around. I'm actually reasonably positive about the new Lilies in high end play tbh.
Whilst yes, the overarching goal will still be to minimise their usage as with any GCD that doesn't involve throwing a rock or refreshing a dot. However I feel they will have their place for mechanics that force extensive movement upon a WHM (Something which Alphascape had a lot of).
Calling Misery a DPS gain is wrong. It's more of a DPS rebate? Hoarding a few Lilies, then dumping them for a misery whilst handling a mechanic along the lines of Pantokrator will be more fruitful than hitting a swiftcast Stone followed by back to back Aero IIs. This ability is also potentially going to be one heck of a bazooka in dungeons. I'll almost certainly be trying to build up as many Blood Lilies as I can whilst the tank is pulling.
The Holy nerf is a net positive too in my eyes. Yes it'll lose it's teeth, but it's also looking to be significantly less resource intensive and will actually dole out more potency on large fluff pulls.
I'm disappointed that we've lost Aero III, Fluid Aura is a wasted opportunity yet again and it's plain as day that SE still refuse to acknowledge how end game players want WHM to fit into things. But at least I'm not looking at my 5.0 kit in sheer disbelief like some are.
It's pretty telling that I consider that to be a win, but that's how little faith I have in SE's job design team at this time TBH.

So, how do we fix this? Easy:
1) Give WHM an Instant like Water III that’s lower potency than Glare. Anything will improve WHM’s stance since you already have 2 Healers that have options to weave with.
2) Give WHM RAID UTILITY. The 10% mitigation from their capstone is nice, but they are still incredibly lacking in contribution with SCH and AST being able to contribute indirectly with Chain Strat and Cards. Since you have Critical Hit(SCH) and Damage(AST), make WHM have Haste.
Haste
- Instant
- Cooldown: 120s
- Grant Haste, which decreases weaponskill cast and recast time, spell casting time, and auto-Attack delay by 10% for all party members.
Duration: 20s
Lily Cost: 2
This will make some rotations faster(BLM, MNK to name a couple) and will also make Dancer sync more with WHM due to the Haste contributing to their Esprit Gauge. This also isn’t power creeping on AST/SCH despite the changes, and it also makes Misery a DPS Gain instead of a loss since you’re using Lilies to make it happen with an oGCD. As much as they said they wouldn’t want synergies being decisive, it’s still there with AST/SCH.

I see something that is being totally ignored, they are 0 MP instacast heals consuming a lily instead of MP. That leaves more MP to DPS if I'm not mistaken especially with mana shift gone.

Lucid is now on a 60s cooldown. Assize still restores 10% mana. Thin air still exists and is still utterly ridiculous.
I very much doubt WHM will be hurting for mana enough to make Rapture and Solace appealing on a "well they're free!" front when opportunity cost is the bigger factor.

Semi decent Thin Air usage renders MP a bit of a non issue for WHM. I really can't see 5.0 changing this.

Not if you wouldn't even need to cast any heal that needs MP in the first place. Which I avoided like the plague for the past couple years now, and will continue to, most likely until I quit.
Also, what Sebazy said. If you struggle with MP on WHM now, you are doing something horribly, horribly wrong.
So give up on WHM and play a scholar like Yoshi clearly thinks we should?
3 expansions and and SCH have ALWAYS been the undisputed best healer. Its far too late in the life of the game for this to change now.
