They weren't asking for children, just femenine males. Alphinaud's model could be changed a little and look adult. I reeeally doubt SE will put children into a game filled with speedos and plate bikinis so dont worry about that lol

What's the difference between a child and a "feminine male"?

Neotenous features are inherently both feminine and childlike on men because women are less impacted by secondary sex characteristics, particularly facially. Men develop facial hair, a wider jaw, a more pronounced brow ridge, a larger nose and coarser skin; none of these things are as present in women who retain smoother skin, more subcutaneous fat and less bone growth due to less testosterone driving those changes.

The only characteristics that are exclusively feminine but not childlike are female secondary sex characteristics like breast growth and gynomorphic fat distribution. If you aren't advocating for male Viera with those things they aren't as much feminine as they are neotenous or "youthful" which is pretty clearly not something that should be in this game.

Though I wonder if thats why we havent ever seen lala fell children, cause of the implications of that? Then again, it's not like the game is shy about demonstrating their adults (they drink, curse, commit crimes, have relationships and earthly desires, etc).

We actually have seen lalafell children.

Although honestly, I don't think we're going to get the type of male viera that sort of look like the hummingway concept art. I like most of the other concept art, so I'm good either way. I just hope we get male viera.

The "feminine male" is also very visible both in K-Pop (as zeylos pointed out) and J-Pop, since Mana-sama actually used to crossdress (and may in fact be partly to blame for my fascination with "Goth Loli" fashion) and Gackt literally being the inspiration for Crisis Core's Genesis. In fact, look at Gackt in almost any stage of his life and he's either androgynous or femenine.

To be noted: I would be equally ok with a more masculine or femenine (or androgynous) looking m!Viera. About the only way I wouldn't be ok with the design would be if they had an equal or more pronounced dimorphism as the Au Ra.

For sure, the last thing I want to see is more exaggerated dimorphism.

I'd prefer male viera be similar enough to female viera in size and frame that it's easy to mistake them for each other at a quick glance. Be nice to have a more familiar androgynous race... it'd bring more variety than male hrothgar or female viera will, honestly.

I'd be ok with this. Since you can't tell male and female viera children apart, I wouldn't be surprised if the males and females still somewhat looked the same as adults.

Not all men have facial hair, wider jaws, and whatever stuff. Viera aren't human anyway.

kpop and jpop guys were already brought up - a good example. I wouldn't mind if we had male viera look like that.

I do get that it seemed like I was asking to play as a child, but that's not what I meant at all. Alphinaud is feminine, partially because he's a teenage boy, but also partially because that's just how he looks. I was just using him as a reference.
