To those asking for greater character creation over Viera are under the mistaken belief that both of those are comparable to the one another. They are not by any stretch of the imagination. Greater character creation has aspects of difficulty in greater data attributed to each character in the player space, the servers ability of those said servers to move that character data from instance to another, and many many other issues i as a non programmer/ game creator cannot begin to plan for.

Conversely the addition of Viera has the aspect of being able to assign all the values that make up whatever Viera will eventually look like in their final form. The same value that each of our characters already have atm.

Lets say each and every character has a value of 10, all the aspects that make your character add up to 10. This is how the program see us and the amount of data that need be compiled to function in the game world. ANY change to that value requires the entire game world to be restructured because now the value 10.0001.

Sliders, horns options, facial hair, scale coloring, anything else added to character creation would simple break the game, because the engine simply wasn't designed to give us those options. Make no mistake this is a problem. What the game needs is a restructuring on the level of 1.0 to 2.0. Far to much of the source code is being hindered by the the far to limiting frame work 1.0 set upon the growth of this game.

I want to be wrong here but as it stands, a few more jobs and races are the best they can offer until either the game dies or they take on the monumental task of remaking Hydalen once more.
