Some games are all about leveling. XIV isn't. I'd say it's balanced in its own right. The only thing that needs to be fixed is the oust and kill method of PLing.I just wanted to quote myself, pay no mind.

Can anyone tell me how getting 40-50 in 2 hours is fair and balanced?
I'm not butthurt, cause I've been PLing my linkshell like a mad hatter, but how is this conducive of fair and balanced gameplay?
Anyone?
P.S. TWO HOURS
since when? they have been back and forth between slow grinds to fast ones threw its history. from 15man parties way back to only getting such bad exp on just coblyns. to link leves that were awesome, then bad, then awesome now bad again. yeah yoshi says pl'ing isn't a problem but you would think a fix on how much would of came by now and should be. games that aren't about leveling are about pvp and this is a pve game. the game has taken lots of turns and they confirmed it to be ok but ....how much is gotten and how, needs to be fixed. make it one pl and 7 or 8 others that have to still do stuff for it to succeed not 1 person and 7afk people. make it like others said just 5-20exp an hour more. enough to want a pl but not needed.
Then what the hell is it about?
I sure hope it's not what you people with all 50's are calling "Endgame" that would just be sad.
It's about keeping us pacified until 2.0. Even after 1.20 we'll still be playing roughly half the game Yoshida intends to make. Each update brings new content designed around the mechanics and balances introduced in that specific patch.
We are 2.0 guinea pigs, that's it. We're just beta testing core mechanics for the next version of the game in exchange for some shinies no one who starts in 2.0 may have.
That's why, to me, this PLing thing isn't much of an issue. SE is asking people to pay for a still broken game in which they cannot afford to implement mid level content to justify a slower leveling experience. Sure, there's some stuff to do on your first trip to 50, but this is a game about leveling multiple classes to have a better character. There's just no reason to have a mindless grind in beta.
no, they expect us to pay for a game they feel is ready to be paid for. to believe this, yoshi, shows his inexperience. It's about keeping us pacified until 2.0. For YOU to believe what you just said shows your inexperience. Didn't anyone ever teach you not to assume?
We've been playing an abused, newly-adopted kid of a game. SE can't just wash their hands and be done with it. They need to save face, at the very least. Yoshi is trying. Stop complaining. If you don't want to pay, then don't.
The reason it's time to finally start charging is because they can't afford to give us 2.0 otherwise. Not on time, not at all. If $13 is too much for your budget, I feel bad for you. How complacent have we become because of the extended F2P period? Just take one painstaking glance at these forums.
Seriously, why in the world is this topic still alive?
and for you not to believe what the dev's stated themselves shows your ignorance. they stated the game was ready to go pay per play. i did not.For YOU to believe what you just said shows your inexperience. Didn't anyone ever teach you not to assume?

the topic is still alive because, unlike you, they feel it is just as legit as it was on the 1.19 patch that screwed it and 1.20 just made a work around. the system is still broken is exactly why it is still open.
13$ is not a problem. that 13$ very likely may go to another game that will be released tomorrow and is in better shape than this game is and it's been out over a year.

For you to follow the reasoning that since it's time to go P2P must mean that the game is retail standard in their eyes, is more assumption on a ludicrous level. To someone whose opinion is in a much more informed position than you, they believe they have to go P2P.and for you not to believe what the dev's stated themselves shows your ignorance. they stated the game was ready to go pay per play. i did not.

Reread my last post without venom in your eyes and you'll see that many people can look on the same information, and garner very different motives behind the statement. A logical person would admit this must mean that one needs to weigh all the facts, re-evaluate their claim, and factor in what might be the most practical decision from a business/SE's standpoint.
In my opinion, anyone who stays through this period deserves special rewards. Investing now is only going to help this game become a brand new incarnation that Yoshi envisions. There's confusion about the shape of this game because of the conflicting visions. You can choose to grasp onto your personal experience with gaming and FFXIV, judge and/or resist. Or you can just show a little courtesy and wait until you're paying and have been disappointed, or delightfully surprised.
The game has been out a long time, but with regime change, and world issues like earthquakes and what-have-you, I'm surprised it's moving along still. By most policies, this would have been terminated as a profitable project. To reiterate on my last post, they have to save face. It's SE. They have a reputation to maintain.
On PLing, I'm not onboard with it. I have gravitated away from it, and because of the lack of content, I've been playing quite a bit less, so this really doesn't affect me. On the other hand, I understand that this game is NOT a level grind to 50, on one or all jobs. It is a whole package grind. Your gear (not specifically ifrit loot >.>;; ) being spiritbonded, acquiring the best materia, melding the perfect set, taking part in hobby content like doh/dol to provide/supply yourself and others.
In short, like Jeeves stated, "Don't like it, don't play." Ride the tide, or jump ship. It's your call, but don't throw insults around the forums, you embarrass yourself. Truly.
It was stated a while ago that SE would charge us once the game was launch worthy, if you dont think the game is launch worthy by now and especially with 1.20 then you just dont want to pay.and for you not to believe what the dev's stated themselves shows your ignorance. they stated the game was ready to go pay per play. i did not.
