So how does putting "Replica" in the front make people feel better when it'd literally be the exact same thing anyway again..? This is super petty.

Despite what a lot of people try to make it seem like, it's not a bad thing to be proud of trophies, or accomplishments, or having a unique shiny item that is extremely rare. The original was from a challenging fight in 1.0. Having the new earring listed as a replica will differentiate between those who obtained it i 1.0, and those who did not. People still get their glamour even if it says 'replica'.

Because it wouldn't be the exact same item as the one from the fight. It would share the appearance and the name but it'd be a different item exclusive to the event.
Legacies get to keep their achievement item and new players get an event glamour.
