i am really mad at lockbox rng... i can't get the emote. i can't spawn cassie fate. i can't get gold chests from bunny fates. i am full of eureka. i have been grinding this thing for 2 weeks and all i have is 1 weapon.

seriously why is emote and minions so rare? i really don't get it. they really know how to make some content to be hated.

I never got any of the HoH specific things and now this, I'm getting pretty annoyed at all the random boxes of materia v.

why tie rng to everything?

mutation is rng. chests are rng. emote is another rng.

While I got my relic in HW the only reason I have gone to Eureka was for the mount, minions and other fluff. Anemos was ok as RNG drop rates made it worthwhile but Pagos with mandatory chaining, poor XP and terrible lockbox drop rates made decide drop running it. I've seen nothing to improve that nor the unimaginative quest line so still have no plans top return.

because nothing else matters when that's true. they built an FFXI leveling system into the game without taking into consideration the difference in FFXIV's combat system.

I also find it kinda funny watching the fatty dragons eat people in the train who don't know to step lightly around them, let sleeping dragons lie and all that.

You say it's true, but it is subjective. If it is okay to chain as others have stated, then what is the problem with me letting people know that chaining is still the most efficient method? There are plenty of people that would rather be efficient. How does that hurt train people?

I was talking to someone about efficiency but that was sidetracked by someone complaining that I favored chaining over the train in terms of fun.

Nobody is denying that chaining isn't more efficient what they are saying is they are willing to give up some efficiency for a mechanism they find more fun. The fact is the NM train allows for people to take breaks, tell a few jokes and generally socialize. All things that cannot be done when running chains as there is no free time to do it. However even with the train there is no getting away from chaining 100% but the train makes that tolerable for many players.

People play the game for fun so they are going to voice their opinion on what they consider fun. That goes along with posting in a public forum. As for me I didn't say what I found fun or not fun in my response to you.
