the asking isn't what it was in reference to. there's quite a few people on my server that not only ask for someone to power level them, but they will get mad and get rude with you if you don't. i don't mind leveling someone when i have extra time to do so, but it's like they expect you to do so that i have an issue with.

That used to happen to me in FFXI. I turned people down right and left on my WHM who begged me to PL them for gil. And even though I am strictly against PLing, after I told them why I was against it I declined politely. I was never rude, even though their asking me used to feel no better than those who used to stand around and beg for gil (people too lazy to work for what they wanted). But some of them were rude when they got an answer they didn't want to hear.
I remember the ones who tried to change my mind. One guy got belligerent and argued with me for 15 minutes before I finally had to black list him.

[nostalgic sigh] Level Syncing was just so much better and well thought out. [/nostalgic sigh]
Is there really all that much between 1 and 50 that you need to slow down for to begin with? One of the downsides of Producer/Director Yoshida elevating "powerleveling" to an actual feature of the game is that it is more expected by lower-level players that higher-level players provide this "service" ... just like a non-crafter would expect a crafter to repair his equipment for a price.

My feeling is the next year is going to focus on endgame material, anyway, so you may as well level to your heart's content before it's all thrown away.

All I hear is end-game material while there is close to no low mid level material.
at least as a crafter they would offer me something in return for my services. they expect you to power level them for free. One of the downsides of Producer/Director Yoshida elevating "powerleveling" to an actual feature of the game is that it is more expected by lower-level players that higher-level players provide this "service" ... just like a non-crafter would expect a crafter to repair his equipment for a price.
