Why do you needs POINTS to be good at your class? Could start on 50 and go learn how to play it still, people did it all time in XI. And incentive is Materia haha.In fact, no, I've changed my mind. This new system of power levelling is ridiculous. I haven't tried it yet, I'm not a high-level FFXIV player, so please do excuse me if I'm mistaken, but just reading how it works is-...
EXPERIENCE. Points.
What more do I have to say?
This is becoming less a game than a race to the top level by exploiting game mechanics... I can't even call it an exploit, it's just how the game works!

These forums sees like nothing but sarcasm and misinformation (patch notes clearly say Mobs higher than players lvl will grant higher exp; yet illiterates keep interpreting "theres an exp cap, if mobs higher you get less SP"). SE just needs to shut this ridiculous thread down.
The playerbase is always lashing teeth at each other for trivial reasons because everyone magically disregards common courtesy when online.
This thread, amongst others, needs to be closed it's honestly only promoting hostility.

it broken because a 50 in a party can kill a 30mob and the player would get the EXP for kill a 30mob. When yoshi-p said it would be fix so you would not get that much exp off it.These forums sees like nothing but sarcasm and misinformation (patch notes clearly say Mobs higher than players lvl will grant higher exp; yet illiterates keep interpreting "theres an exp cap, if mobs higher you get less SP"). Power-level like this should not be allow for that just give everyone who join a 50 save the work.

I'm usually not one to post here due to the drooling idiots spewing misinformation -- and my general lack of just not caring.it broken because a 50 in a party can kill a 30mob and the player would get the EXP for kill a 30mob. But saying the wrong shit is saying the wrong shit. Test things and bring actual numbers before throwing wild claims.
Setup:
Lv50 THM
Lv1 ARC
LV28 CNJ
Enemies:
Lv35-39 Sea Hares
Exp:
The Arc would gain a base (no chain/link bonus) of 200 on these enemies.
The CNJ would gain 500.
You want to tell me that a lv1 is gaining the EXP of the higher level mob? They aren't. They're gaining proper exp with a proper cap in place for the enemy being higher level.
I could go and get base EXP for every level as well as a nice little % increase and the cutoff point for being a higher level is -- But screw that, I'm busy Leveling all my Jobs to the 30s.
Either way, I've seen it mentioned too much here that the "cap" for enemies being higher than the player isn't working and a low level gets the exp of a lv30, or whatever fake numbers people want to throw out.
System's working as made, albeit extremely abusable.
Bring it down why? Because you don't agree with it? It seem's any post that actually makes sense on these forums are asked to be brought down. If you don't like it fine state your own point of view but don't suggest something to be brought down just because you feel like it.These forums sees like nothing but sarcasm and misinformation (patch notes clearly say Mobs higher than players lvl will grant higher exp; yet illiterates keep interpreting "theres an exp cap, if mobs higher you get less SP"). It's ironic that the fatigue system probably would have helped with something like this. I guess we'll see their response in 1.19a, or the next client patch, as there have been several hotfixes already and not one mention of this "issue."
And here we go again.
Before: Wah wah there's so much boring grinding.
After: Wah wah it's too easy to level up.
You will never be happy.
There's a pretty large difference between boring grind and broken power leveling. Is the target in the middle really that hard to hit?
I've never seen anyone on this forum say "I want to be able to go from level 1-50 in a day without actually killing anything myself."
There's a huge difference between wanting a less grindy grind, and wanting leveling to be virtually abolished. Don't act like just because people are complaining about the latter when they wanted the former, they're somehow hypocrites.
Not the point. The point is, now you can if you want to, and can find someone willing to take you there. What's it to you if someone else does it? You can grind levels however you want now.
