Power-leveling is absolutely BROKEN

All we need to do is Abolish the AFK leveling. This will dramatically slow the pace of Leveling. The content in this game is designed to level you as you complete other objective. We need to get players to actually participate in their XP so they will decide playing is more fun than watching or just not playing.

I really dont see whats so bad about PLing. There is hardly any "fun" content between 20-40. 1-20 goes by so fast solo its not even worth mentioning lol. Its that middle range that needs a lot of work, and SE i'm sure is working on it. Until then, its just a massive grindfest with no real reward. If anything PLing is rather healthy for the community, as it gets everyone the same level so they can all play together. Its not like you skip anything worthwhile between 20 and 40 that can't do later. Seriously.

Besides, there are many jobs in the game you can't PL (DoL and DoH say hi). Ppl will have to work the hard way 1-50 eventually. So what they PLed their DoW jobs. Now they can play with the rest of their LS, learn their class, and enjoy the benefits of being lvl 50 (farming, materia, dungeon runs, primals). How is this a bad thing again?

Well its because I'm betting most of the anti-plvling crowd that states they dont want to do it really mean they cant find anyone to PL them, and then they dont want anyone to be able to PL so that they are forced to seek out party members. I have yet to find anyone in game that would turn down plvling.

I've turned down PL several times (but i've also taken PL several times). So now you know one person. Im sure there are others as well.

I'm sure the majority of people who are anti-PL have used it, not because they are hypocrites, but because the alternative is to solo. If you solo you get left behind.

Like I said earlier, PL should have been nipped in the bud shortly after this issue came up. Now its too late as the majority of the active player base have their desired classes to 50 already, and to get rid of PL now will leave too few players stranded at a variety of levels making forming PTs nearly too difficult to be worthwhile.

The best the people who are anti-PL can hope for is to campaign hard while ver 2.0 is in development so that when it's released there is actually a real game to play from beginning to end game.

The points against PL have been mentioned over and over in this thread only to get refuted by "you're just jealous" (no) "it doesn't affect you" (yes it does) "don't do it if you don't like it" (as if we have a choice)

That would be true. If someone can't find a party for days and someone offers to PL, it would be pretty dumb to say "no" (no offense). It doesn't make PLing any better though.

yep, i am against powerleveling and have been since it came out. i refuse to do it for others and will not waste my time doing so.

you nailed the reason i hate it too. i have nobody that will powerlevel me. i need to get every class to rank 51 since i am all 50's. oh wait.....there's no r51?..... i guess your argument is absolutely wrong.... i'm sorry sir, but you are incorrect.

Yes, that's the reason perfectly said. It's almost as if people legitimately doesn't like powerleveling, I mean that would be silly for a human being to have likes and dislikes. You're right, the only reason people are against PL is not because it ruins low and mid level partying, especially with a lower playerbase and it not only churns out people who know not a damn thing about mechanics beyond standing in one spot or moving to another spot and standing and not to mention it not only teaches you nothing about certain monsters...it's because they can't get powerleveled themselves.

SO fun seeing this reach 156 pages O.o. Whatever you think, in the end PL exists atm because there is nothing to do in the middle levels. Like NOTHING. Toto'Rak and thats it for the low levels, and even that gets boring after the 3rd run. Once 2.0 comes and we have proper content and quest hubs and everything, PLing wont be "needed", maybe even not desired althout I highly doubt that.
