The point that I was trying to make was that you cannot compare the current state of FFXIV to any other MMO because they have not even come close to 50%. It may be the state of things as they currently are today, but to complain about the endgame is an unfair comparison because they have not finished releasing content.

I am not supporting FFXIV. I am pointing out that this discussion is irrelevant because the product is not complete. When someone mentions endgame it implies that the game has content that could be considered complete.
Jesus Christ, this topic has become flooded with stupidity and inanity. Have you never played an MMO before? Since the original Everquest, the term "Endgame content" in an MMO has specifically referred to the content designed for players who are at level cap. It's that damned simple. This isn't chess. This isn't an argument about semantics. This is how MMO players have delineated between levelling content and level cap content since the very earliest MMOs. I know this because I've been playing MMOs for that long.

Right now, all the content designed for level cap players constitutes the endgame. The endgame will change and evolve as more content is added, but this doesn't change the first statement. The current endgame is composed of Ifrit/Stronghold/Darkhold/World NMs/Faction NMs.
