Have you heard about 1.0?
Have you heard of how 2.0 was started, and what they learned from the previous failure?
Complaining is good. You're not supposed to like complaining, and you're not supposed to like reading people's complaints. It's still important to do so, when as players that is all we can do to show the devs what we like and don't like.
I'd throw the same suggestion you posted: if general discussions is too heated for you, do yourself a favor and take a break. It's so easy to address things you don't like with that sort of advice, feels cheap doesn't it?
You may think you're helping, but telling people to "please shut up, leave my game alone!" serves no purpose other than to appease your ego.
I will never understand people that feel like they have to protect a video-game, or the billion dollar corporation behind it. And this is coming from someone who absolutely LOVES final fantasy xiv. I've been playing since closed beta and in fact, my only ever complaint was about the recent mogcoins stuff in the future mobile app.
