Anyone ever see a retainer in the field?

So I was runjing in the north shroud, when I happened to see a player running in my direction. I didn't see a name, but when you are far enough away the names disappear. But as I got closer I sfill saw no name. To my surprise, when I got up right next to her, I noticed shewasnt a player but a retainer, outfit and all. She did a speach bubble commenting about finding a great haul, then teleported away.

Has anyone else ever noticed this?

Oh and for those who might of seen the same one as me she was a lala in pigtails, like Serendipity's from the goldsmith guild.

Hm, I also saw a female Lala retainer in the north shroud gathering something - Never seen a retainer 'in the wild' before so had to report to my fc and take ascreenshot but I don't have it anymore :/ She was mining, got something, made a happy emote and teleported away. My encounter is so strangely similar to yours, it makes me wonder what's with that and why I never saw a retainer before and after that

Yeah that is strange the only difference wasnthat the one I saw was harvesting, but I wonder if its the same retainer?

Sadly, nope. It's just generic retainers in their blue outfit doing things like mining, logging, etc.

Yup


Almost always see a retainer on the path to Whitebrim, not that far to the west of Dragonhead if you wanna find it. That's just the one I remember off the top of my head, there's plenty more.

Honestly, that looks to me like it's a generic name that SE put in there to make them seem more "realistic". I somehow doubt that it's an actual retainer running around.....

On another note. I had no idea this was even a thing. I find random NPCs all the time when I wander around, but I suppose I should be looking for the retainer ones. Maybe we should turn this into a "roaming retainer sightings guide"......

That's actually an invalid name in the speech bubble. You can't capitalize any of the letters when making a name except for the first letter of the first name and first letter of the last name.
