the whole point is that most of that does not last very long, people have been doing much of that for months....and this games been out for over a year...and we are only getting 1 new real event, so people getting bored REALLY fast is bound to happen. They can't expect to charge us for a game where there is little to do, and lots of things wont/cant happen because we are still on these garbage servers playing in a crappy world (you even said its copy paste, which surprised me)

I still cant understand why you or anyone else is so against letting the game be free until 2.0. They clearly dont need the money (its SE, the are loaded) and they dont care how little people play, they are doing 2.0 reguardless....so why not let it be free until then? why make little money now and piss off and likely loose a bunch of potential players because you want to charge for a crappy product?

    i just dont get it.

It depends on the player really. you think there is little to do, I think there is lots to do.

Also I never said I had a problem with it being free to play till 2.0, however I dont mind paying now either, we're getting a discounted subscription price anyways.

This is a thread about endgame content. Not a thread about how many hours we can spend running around in circles doing literally nothing and pretending it's entertainment. There is nearly no relevant endgame content in the game at the moment. This is a fact.

To you people who have no argument other than "you guys are obsessed with loot!":

Seriously? Progression is the fundamental tenet of the entire RPG genre, and has been for I don't know.. the past 30 years? Experiencing a new fight MIGHT be fun for the first few times. After that, the reason you keep farming a boss isn't because you utterly enjoy repeating the same mechanics hundreds upon hundreds of times, it's because you need to acquire the gear to get stronger for the next challenge. It's so you get the satisfaction of equipping a piece of gear that makes you stronger, makes you look stronger, makes you hit harder, etc. Endgame players find the sense of achievement and the acquisition of rare items to be the fun.

ESPECIALLY in an mmo (at endgame), Gear is the carrot on the stick which keeps people playing and drives people to keep going through content.

Defeating a difficult boss should appropriately reward you with gear which makes you stronger and better equipped for what lies ahead. In this game, by and large, you are rewarded with garbage for what little endgame content there is. This makes absolutely no sense, and given how simple it would be for devs to fix the issue, it''s puzzling that they haven't.

Until they raise level it is. Doesn't matter what will happen in a year, right now it's all end game for people.

btw. SE plans to raise levels in expansions so I guess there will never be end game content this way? really think a little.

Is that supposed to be an insult?

Yoshi said the game is 50% done. I think I read or heard in the Live Producer Letter that they are not planning on a level increase until after PS3 release or 1.21.

I believe that people overuse terms like "endgame", when what they really mean is level cap. They haven't even released advanced jobs yet.

The content designed for the players at the current level cap is the endgame.

I am pretty sure FFIII was not an MMO. In fact, I am willing to bet money on it.

Not at level 50 it isn't.

"They have not even released advanced jobs yet"

    There is no meriting.

Maybe if you're from lolWoW that means: alternate advancement points.

This is Final Fantasy and it's nowhere near endgame yet. There are no advanced areas like sky and sea.

You are not putting the cart in front of the horse, but are on the road, with a horse and a load of manure to haul, when the cart has not even been invented yet.

Let me put it this way.

The term endgame suggests that there is something that comes before it. You might want to call it "the game."

"The game" in a level progression MMO where the goal is to empower your character to its full potential is the level progression itself and the opportunities and stories you encounter during this process. Once that level progression ends, the empowerment of your character ends. Ergo, the game ends.

Thus we call this phase, "the endgame."
